The data for this Ashes has been fascinating. 

 

Essentially, you have to either bowl in the 130-135 range or you have to be 145+ to be effective in these conditions. Its why both Woakes and Wood have been successful. 

 

All of Australia's bowlers mostly bowl 135-145 currently(Cummins and Starc have lost pace over the years) 

 

English conditions are weird but England's analysts know their conditions extremely well. Probably why Josh Tongue a typical 135-145 bowler is not preferred over a past it 130-135 kph Anderson.

England aren't calling out real culprit for the series loss. Where is the accountability? Bairstow, Anderson are the biggest disappointments. Bairstow dropped so many important catches and laid eggs with bat when needed except in 4th test. Anderson was innocuous and better bowler Tongue had to sit out because of him. Also Stokes- whose declaration in 1st innings came back to haunt them later. Absolute dreadful decision that was. I think England cricket and fans aren't far behind Indians as far as sentiments are concerned with great names in Cricket. Needless worshipping of Stokes-Baistow-Anderson.

100% but at home you would expect Anderson to sill do ok but he is old now. Should have made changes. 

 

India is the worst though. Followed by England. 

 

Pak actually tries new players. They just suck.

In bowling they could have debuted the young quick and never but neser isn't getting picked cause of lack of pace.

This was their best chance to smash Australia 5-0. Even toss helped them but pathetic onfield and off-field decisions ruined it. England need to realise that their team selection has to be on point if they dream about beating Australia at the home the way Australia smash poms in Australia. And what is baffling is their fans and media are still trying to cover it with stupid assumptions that their team was "Better". They were competitive but not better. Australia was better team and thats why they are leading 2-1.

Regardless of anything else one may say this series is not going to be the death knell of Bazball the way many said it might be. They are still playing much better than they were before it.

poms can never smash Aus 5-0 at home- their weather is so rubbish in the summer that atleast 1 test will be a draw due to rain delays

Aussies have been guilty of floating the balls instead of hitting the deck hard.They have not used their height at all in this series.

Oval has been more of a bat-first pitch recently. Not sure if this is the right decision. Australia look a bit jaded at the end of this long 6 Test tour and sloppy in the field.

What are you talking, Smith's avg is 31 in the series. Aussies bowling has been fine,

 

Bowling has won them this series. Along with Cummin's batting.
