Actually 3 failed fast bowlers and 1 inconsistent bowler is never going to win. Bumrah and Ishant played a major role in these wins. They played a specific role. We keep thinking adding 4 or 5 fast bowlers will keep on giving us wins overseas. This is new England side. Even with Bumrah/Siraj we got canned in the 5th test by bazball. Our dream run is over. Blindly backing 4 seamers without realizing their quality, form is seriously stupid.

When was last time Ashwin won any match for India in England. I am not saying he would not have done better than Yadav but these moronic ex players including Sachin who instrumental in picking Jaidev over Umesh in 2010 need to stop this crap.

 

Sunil Gavasker is an idiot , was he sleeping last three years, what was he doing when Indian batting was stinking up everywhere since 2020.

 

Why was he silent when Pujara and Rahane were recalled into the team.

 

I have seen some geniuses here thinking youngsters would have won the match for India.How did so called best youngster Gill bat in four innings in England.

 

One more thing Thakur plays only as fourth fast bowler in case some  people don't understand, if three fast bowlers play he is out.

England bats very deep. A reason why they can play this type of game. Root can bowl also. It provides them so much option. Stokes did not bowl did not bat against Ireland. They comfortably won against them. It is that kind of a team. Their captain doesn't have to do anything they can still win.

Actually after kohli Rahane should have been captain, Guy is tactical genius it reflects in 2 back to back series against aus one at home and one at overseas both occasions india came for behind and the guy played dome ballsy knock as well.

Rahane said that he didn't get the credit for the series win that he should have and one reason for it was Shastri himself at the time trying to give the credit for it to Kohli who was not even there. I can't disagree with him tbh.

We were not playing England and Ashwin too is no match winner abroad. Only way to win was fast bowlers bowling well which didn't happen. So even if Ashwin played ahead of Shardul, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Almost same pace bowling unit won us Gaba test.

No Individual is a match winner except Bumrah. Even he failed in two of the most important encounters. Series decider and WTC final 2021.  It was always a collective effort. When did SHami shine in England? You back your best option. Best match up.

i did not say Shami did well in England nor did Ashwin with 14 wickets in 6 tests.  Shami doing well was higher probability then Ashwin doing well seeing the conditions, grassy pitch, cloudy morning. in reality, we did not loose WTC final because of bowling but because of batting failures in both the innings. After first two hours, pitch ha settled in to be a good batting pitch, not much seam or swing. No spin. Needed 1-2 100s from the top 5 like Aussies did. four oldies have forgotten how to bat long innings. in both innings, they got out after getting in. needed two out of the four oldies to play long innings and first innings deficiency would not have been 170. Needed to score 450 in the first innings and it could have been a draw or an Indian win.

You excluded Ashwin's 4 wicket haul in England in WTC final

 

Last 10 years bowling performances of  Indians in England.  Guess where Vihari took 3fer. It was at the oval. When Cook and Root were piling up. India had no one to turn to. Vihari dismissed Root/Cook in back to back balls for centuries. Took out Curran another left hander as well.  In that list No Pandya/No Bumrah/No Ishant/No BK.  Everyone else is poor.  I don't see a "match winning fast bowler" outside Bumrah and Ishant.  Basically we went with 1 inform fast bowler and 3 average fast bowler just for t he sake that too at oval.  Also look at the economy rate of bowlers. He is the most economical of all our run leaker Umesh was leaking left/right/center. Ishant was had better economy, better average, better strike rate. Moment Ishant's slide started our performance England started dipping.
