India’s ODI Squad: Rohit Sharma (Capt), Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Shardul Thakur, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar

Why do they even announce the squad...they can just say that we're playing all the same TTF's and oldies no matter how much they stink.

Harshit Rana is not included but the jhandu bam like Mukesh Kumar and Unadkut finds a place magically despite lack of match practice.

Unadkat, Pandya and 4 spinners(Ashwin, Axar, Jadeja,  Kuldeep/Chahal/Sundar  for WC in India. This will be the choice.

How the 4 spinners will fare on Indian pitches with Kookaburra remains to be seen.

WI onedayers are to give legitimacy for Unadkat in the WC XI.

PS - the other five will be Rohit/Gill/Kohli/"National treasure" SKY/Kannaur Lokesh<wk>

They should have selected Jaiswal.

Jaiswal outperforming Rohit here would put Rohit's position in a spot of bother since Gill is all set to be another opener. They always make sure an youngster don't snatch his spot. Remember after Rohit's injury Kishan played and scored a 200. Then he was dropped immediately.  As a captain Rohit can easily undermine youngsters by using them differently.

Plus he is a leftie and doesn't have any apparent technical weakness. Someone who is seen as an all format player, imagine the pressure of Rohit and other if he clicks in ODI's as well.

Failed cricketers as selectors choose similar products.

Jaydev Unadkat is a journey man trundler who had one good Ranji season and he gets into Indian team. Its a very quota selection from Gujarat.

Mukesh Kumar is same as Vinay Kumar nothing else.

Rahane as VC. Out of team for 16 months. He comes in because Iyer is injured. And after 1 test he is VC.

His Ranji trophy performance was nothing exceptional, yet selected.

Another team management favourite.

This team management politics is killing the team.

They picked him based on Vijay Hazare performance. But they forgot how crap he was in LOI formats when he played for India. There is only one format where we can use him as a stop gap solution in light of  losing fast bowlers to form or injury which is Tests.
