They can always be trained to counter swing but the former 2 is difficult to get accustomed to as witnessed by many past players who have remained poor vs short ball through out their careers.

 

I watched sarfeaz play and in my opinion he should not be picked for anywhere outside Asia, west Indies. He will fare badly in sena given his poor ability vs short ball.

Can it be worked on? Absolutely but it's much easier to learn how to counter swing than handle short ball.

Australia offers roads that most of Indians thrive. Just a bit of bounce. Pujara is hardly an expert against bouncers. He just let it hit on his body.

A batsman averaging 80 in FC cricket over several seasons deserves a chance. Case closed. Give him 5 tests. Even Kohli struggled in his first five tests. Got exposed by Fidel Edwards' pace in WI. Struggled against the short ball.

They are a special kind. Even after countless county experiwnce they are still so bad.

Such people should have never been picked if they failed in consecutive series particularly un England and s.africa.

They offer roads with bounce because their batsmen got exposed badly by indian attack in 2018 and 2021. Next time we tour we will get thrashed 3 0 or 3 -1 if we don't have all our players fit. Our bouncy players need to play. Rotate every 3rd game.

Wow .. what more is player supposed to do than play in the circuit he is being asked to play . I wonder why Aussies,Brit’s, sa’s ,nz’s don’t poach Indian players … Judging ppl by IPL play is absurd .

Pant himself is overweight. In all likelihood he will be more fat when he comes back. I don't think any one of us will raise that as an issue. At this point he shuld be allowed to fail before discarding. Bangladesh series was the perfect series. We sent our eggsperienced players to stat pad. It backfired big time at Mirpur.

Fitness. Fatness neglectors shouldn't be allowed to play for the national side. Including Rohit, Pant etc

Rt. now looks like Ind TM and selectors are more inclined towards keeping senior players in the side and not to try new faces.

 

They already wasted ay year in  introducing newer player in side, now they are doing the same with Test team. They have to make-up their mids  and not play musical chair between Rahane and Pujara.

 

Rahane is made V.C again after just 1 fifty. Their is no foresightedness is this group.
