If we are playing 4 quicks ( plus 2 spinners) it's better to bring Harshit Rana or Prasidh in the mix instead of Thakur or Shami.

We will need a genuine quick in RSA and I doubt Bumrah will be able to hit those speeds again.

 

Shami is ageing and it will make sense to use him like Umesh (I.e. subcontinent expert). There is no better place to debut for quicks than RSA (place which offers movement, bounce and pace throughout).

Ideally Prasidh should be the obvious choice but not sure if he has started bowling and recovered completely from injuries. Shami will be there as he is integral member of the team.

Kishan did well in SA during A tour...  We will miss Pant but Kishan is solid against hit the deck stuff with his cross bat shots. 

Nortje will be fit this time as well.

my fast bowlers for africa.

6. Vidyut Kaveraapa ( he is 6 ft 4 "   and his 136K pace with that bounce can be good in africa)- my choice is Prasidh but because he and Mohsin khan are UNFIT , only tall bowler who can challenge Prasidh is Kaveraapa.
7. Navdeep Saini( he is fast and I would trust that he has improved)

 

Dump UNADKAT, Mukesh Kumar, and even Umesh Yadav( though I still feel he can perform in africa but he has got his chances)

They'll doctor the pitches like crazy, no player from either side will score a 100, both tests will get over in 2-3 days. No need of any spinner, Jaddu can play as pure batsman, but he'll hardly get a bowl. And yeah watch out for some dodgy ball tracking, like that Elgar LBW from last tour!!!!!

Gaikwad/Easwaran (Rohit will somehow get injured before another SENA tour, wait and watch)

Kohli (undroppable)

Harshit at 8. He is powerful. Can bowl fast and can bat. Natural bounce

11 bumrah or Sen if bumrah is injured

 

 

Deadly combo. Trust me no need for shami who is old now. And definitely no need for umesh.

 Personally we need specialists for this tour to break the jinx. 

Centurion & Cape Town are our two venues so it ain't gonna be easy. 

Centurion gets tougher as sun beats down..  Last time we won there Coz of a record opening stand & won a crucial toss.  But collapsed soon...  But had enough to beat them. 

 

Won't mind Rohit as he is strong on cut & pull.  Gill would be MVP. 

Kohli is dead duck sadly. 

Jaiswal would be a much needed left hand addition.

that LBW was obviously cooked up s**t, but Ind allowed their heads to drop too much. moreover, there were selection errors galore (e.g., no tall pacers with bounce)

if only we could get rid of brat, rohit, and especially rahane, but it won't happen. even gill will be a sitting duck on these pitches, because SA pitches are not just about bounce (which gill can handle) but also about movement (which he sucks against)

no he isn't. Only does it in LOI pattas and always hits it in the air. Eng regularly got him there. He'd be terrible in SA. I'd even take KL.

Rahul,Pant,Bumrah,Iyer should not be rushed .

 

Mukesh Kumar ,Unadkat will reserve one place till. Bumrah,Shami are back.

 

Sen ,Prasidh,Rana are nowhere in.selectors radar.
