I am not very sold on the idea of Ishan Kishan playing in world cup. I know he scored runs against WI but that is a Lilliput bowling attack. He would struggle in world cup stage against the likes of Shaheen, Starc and Rabada's  of the world. Actually I don't think Kishan is international class batsman.

If KL is fit, I would play him as Wk bat at no.5 where he has good record.

KL's problem in whiteball is not his ability but his mental make up.

KL and DK are the two most mentally weak players I have seen in Indian cricket.

KL is better than DK but that is not saying too much.

I mean he has so much of talent but he choose to be a meek and coward.

My man a lot of people have said that he has "so much" talent. That then gets accepted as the truth.

I don't think he has a lot of talent but as Joseph Goebbels said - “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”. In psychology they call it  “illusory truth effect.”

(Note: not saying you or anyone on this board is saying untruths but we are repeating them)

There are pages on the web on this......"I heard it before so it must be true." Belief in all statements - plausible and implausible - increases with repitition.

No doubt he has talent ... If you are not seeing it then you know very little about cricket...

But he should be no where near Indian cricket... He is chicken when it comes to crutch  situations ...

I would rather play less talented shikar or gambhir who are big match players and mentally strong than piss poor mentally weak KLR

If you are seeing it then you know even less about cricket. There are plenty of doubts one has talent when the scores to back it up are not there.

You can stuff the mumbo jumbo about mentally weak - show me the scores. Period.

Squad for Asia cup will be selected this week. There are talks about hurriedly selecting injured player.Rahul is also practicing as wicket keeping.

Already Kishan and Samson are there in the squad as wickeepers. What is the need to  rush someone what is a makeshift keeper .

In the absence of Rahul,Iyer,Pant Bumrah many young players have performed well in the domestic tournament. Just because they are senior players, they should not be selected in the squad directly.

Young players ie Jaiswal,Ruturaj,Tilak,Rinku,Sudarshan,Parag, have performed well and deserves chances  ahead of the injured players

BCCI PR & marketing disagrees with this....  They need KL Rohit Kolli & for clown TV Chahal

One can be talented but not prolific, one can be talented and also prolific. One can be not very talented but prolific.

All 3 are possible.

In Rahul's case the observation that he has 'talent' is because he does have a lot of time when he bats and doesn't have any technical flaw that is immediately apparent nor can you really say there is a sure fire way to tie him down because of some serious limitations. And he does this while usually being quite elegant. In general talented strokeplayers who are not very unorthodox can be called talented without trying to split hairs. Players who get in but find inventive ways of getting out because they lack concentration and can't build an innings or don't perform when there is a lot at stake have other issues that are not skill related although one can say the mental side is also very important so should maybe come under the category of talent. I tend to think it is the icing on the cake though one may disagree.

I don't think he has a lot of talent but as Joseph Goebbels said - “

In tesf matches, KL Rahul has a batting average like Yashpal Sharma .. in ODIs he has a batting strike rate of the pre-T20 Era.

And yet he gets treated like Sachin Tendulkar by every Team management and every selection committee.

Walks right in every team after prolonged absences. Specialist keepers are kept out of teams and squads so that he can grace the team by his presence as a below-par keeper when he fails even more as a batter.

He fails and is made the captain of an IPL Franchise. He fails some more and gets the backup India captain's job.

If that is not talent of some kind, even if not cricketing talent, tell me what is   !!

To survive Shaheen Naseem new ball burst is absolutely instrumental if we wanna beat them.  You can bring any Tom dick &,  Harry but they are gonna find it extremely tough.

Shaheen is bowling extremely well (best new ball pacer rn) Naseem too.

We can cash in with serious stroke makers once ball gets a bit old.

I know  Tilak is not gonna make it but boy is a serious stroke making machine looks like against all types of bowling...  A quality left handed MO player in the making.  Maybe after more than a decade we have someone like him.

I hope PAK play

Saim

Fakhar

Babar

Rizwan

Kamran Ghulam

Agha/Mubasir

Amad Butt

Shaheen

Usama

Naseem

Ihsanullah/Rauf

It's the best they can throw at us and I suspect we will struggle against that lineup.

Imam will play & no way Ghulam is making it....  Agha Salman is definately playing.

Usama won't play over Shadab who has hold on us since CT 2017 barring WC 2019 encounter.
