It has got the correct ingredients. Needs some time, which is plenty, for players to settle down.

Batsmen

Jaiswal - should be there to optimize PP

Gill - relatively the batsman seeking to hold one end while hitting bad balls away and rotating strike

SKY - go for it attitude

Tilak/Rinku/etc - another positive batsman

Sir Don Pandya - AR & captain

WK - Pant when available and if in form, Samson, Jitesh, etc.

Bowlers

Axar or Sundar or equivalent - esp. if batting well

Kuldeep or equivalent

Bumrah

Siraj

A seamer or spinner per conditions ... Chahal, Bishnoi, S Kishore, etc.  ... Praisdh, H Rana, etc.

Having a batsman striking at 120 as specialist hitter. Which T20I team does that?

Don't need Kishan and Samson in Indian T20 setup.  Have seen enough of these two top deduce that they are not good enough.

My top 8 for T20 WC next year in Windies.

Jaiswal ( should bowl)
Gill
Sky
Tilak ( should bowl)
Pandya ( all rounder)
Rinku
Jitesh
Axar ( all rounder)

This is a powerful top 8 ( 4 lefties and 4 righties) and this can be followed by 3 best bowlers - Kuldeep, Siraj and Bumrah.

Pls no more Rohit, kohli, Rahul, Jadeja, Ashwin and Shami next year in T20.

Gill will flop 9 out of 10 times in t20. Should be dropped. Agree with rest of your post.

Second this, when there are 2 early wkts and Verma and Gill are batting together, both will be same kind of batters who look to consolidate rather counter-attack.

Also there are enough evidences that Gill slows down near the personal milestones.

Rituraj should be tried as the opener

Gill should be dropped.      Rituraj, despite his tremendous domestic record does not inspire much confidence at intl level.  Probably need to look beyond him.    Also goes to show the glaring difference in quality between our domestic level and intl.

Jaiswal-Gill 165 runs p'ship ... hopefully beginning of dynamic p'ship :thumb:

And some cool and unorthodox captaincy by Sir Don Pandya, who as an AR is worth 1.5-2 players. There is a saying that a good captain is worth 2 players, so that makes SDP worth 3-4 players!! :hatsoff:

I completely agree with you on Ruturaj. He looked so out of place in most of the international games. We should not judge players in their early days just by their failures or successes but also how comfortable and at ease they look against quality opposition. Ruturaj wasn't good enough to even touch a single ball from Rabada in one of the spells in SA. Was beaten 12/12 times. That made me think that he doesn't belong to the scene.
