Yup the 11-0 in WC games and 13-2 in ICC tourneys is all fluke :agree:

And I guess so are all the tourneys listed in my siggy, and in most of them India thrashed (or fluked as you prefer) Pakistan on its way to the title :two_thumbs_up:

I guess I can live with such flukes and fluky wins :icflove::isalute:

I think you haven't counted 1985 B&H which was the world championship of cricket that time, kinda like a CT. We beat them twice in that tournament, so it should read 15-2.

5. India has dominated Pakistan last 10 years.  The teams arnt even close.  If India cared so much about overall record they'd have a ton of matches so India could up their "overall record" stats.  The reality is no one cares anywhere.  Every 2 years Pakistan and Pakistanis gets humiliated by India in front of the world. India will just continue to trounce Pakistani in the international tournaments.

Big BS! Around late nineties early 2000 there have been advent of TV cameras, crackdown on chucking and ball chewing for tea or coca cola bottle without caps and neutral umpires, India has been doing very well.

Bring back good old days and Pakistani team will be one of the best.

PS; Since late nineties, Most of Indian fans had confidence that we will beat Pakistan in every important game. Before that our only hope was Goddy.

My bad! It's tough to keep count of all the thrashings India have handed down to Pakistan on the global stage, i.e. non-friendlies in footie parlance :giggle:

That is what I am saying. The policy of selecting tried & tested failures is a cancer in Pakistan cricket. But that is not the only problem.

Hafeez, Shehzad and Wahab are pure passengers. Wonder which modern day cricket Mickey Arthur talks about after having Azhar, Hafeez and co in his team.

In all seriousness here's my analysis of the Pak team I saw yesterday...

Shehzad - Not good enough for intl level.

Azhar Ali - Not fit to play in shorter formats.

Babar Azam - I haven't seen much of so can't comment but he didn't look assured at the crease as one would expect a highly touted batsman.

Hafeez - It's time he's replaced.

Malik - Looked good and played with intent. Probably the only batsman who looked the part in the team.

Sarfaraz - Poor captain and not that good a batsman either. Looks like he talks a bigger game than what he can play on the field.

Imad Wasim - I didn't see what the big deal was about him as he can't pick wickets and is a poor batsman.

Shadab Khan - Probably the best Pak player

Hasan Ali - Was decent and good enough to be a support bowler

Wahab Riaz - How he's still with the Pak team boggles my mind and it speaks volumes about Pak's prospects in pace dept

Amir - One of the few Pak players who's any good but he's not a strike bowler.

I think Azhar Ali is unfairly maligned in that team.  At least the guy has some semblance of technique and temperament.  Agree that he's not the greatest of ODI players, a poorer version of Rahane.  But Pakistan doesn't have too many options.  A smart team mgmt would put him in as opener and ask him to bat long, while the rest of the lineup bats around him.   Shadab looks good, a real prospect.  He should be an automatic pick for ODIs as 1st choice spinner.  He's the only one that looked good enough as a player for international cricket yesterday.

Azhar Ali, Shoaib Malik, Shadab Khan, Amir - these are the international class players in that team.  That's about it.

Sohail Khan would have been a much much better selection than this joke Wahab. All these passengers need to go.

Even PSL is being used to give pay cheque and accommodating tried failures.

Shadab looked ordinary. No idea whats so special.:noidea:

Not special but Pak has such huge problems that he's not the priority. At least he can bowl decently and hold the bat.

Azhar Ali belongs to a different era in shorter formats where 230-240 used to be a good total. He may be a decent bat but his SR will never make him a match-winner. He belongs in the same category as Rahane who should stick to Tests.

Maybe I'm wrong but in my opinion Pak team is selected against India in the hope that individual brilliance (Jazbaa & Junoon stuff, do it for Kashmir, Hinduon ki zehniyat etc.) of few players will wash away India.. It used to happen in another era when some rookie Pak players used to beat Indian team full of stars...

Malik is from that era... he still tries to bring his best against India...

Not any more... Indian players are now seasoned to take care of any individual brilliance...

A professional setup will almost always trump an amateur or individual-centric one.
