Yeah, I am a fan too. He has got that extra in him in pressure situations which is what makes all rounders match winners than statistical greats. He showed that right away in Gabba 2020 and he may do it today as well.

I have no issue with Indian team developing Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy( currently vulnerable but a seam bowling A/R is gold for India) for future.

People forget that as a 17-18 year old, he won MOTT in Nidahas....showed extreme clutchness. Then Gabba at 20, followed by his clutch series winning 96* against Eng in Ahmedabad, people have already forgotten how clutch that partnership between Pant and Washi was. Just 25 now, and missed so many matches due to injuries.

Best Indian player in the NZ series last year, think he had some gritty knock in Aus, a 4fer here after a mature knock in Edgbaston

Don't judge him based on his white ball performance, his game isn't built for that. He is a natural successor to Jadeja in test cricket, may not be as lethal with the ball in SC but in SENA he will be an upgrade, purely because of the drift he gets, and bounce.

Looked the most comfortable batsman (after Pant )against a raging Boland on that Sydney greentop.

Expected some resistance today. But will still back him

Bit of bad luck with the return catch. If he had survived few more balls, surely would have formed a partnership with Jadeja. But not to be...

Its clear that this guy can't score more than 30s or 40s.. likewise in his bowling can rarely pick more than 3 wickets and probably likely to snap some cheap lower order wickets.. whose decision was it to pick both Sundar and Jadeja in same 11

He was the best bowler out of Ashwin, Jadeja, Kuldeep and himself in the NZ home test series.

He is still averaging 38 with bat and 26 with ball. Not bad for someone not given a permanent spot...

He is the perfect definition of bits and pieces player.Who has shown no improvement with bat even after getting so much exposure.

Kuldeep over him is no brainer.

some were even advocating for number 4 slot for him :phehe:
