Gollum Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 12 tests so far in his career. In at least half of them he has given clutch performances. Still haters will keep hating. bowl_out, Forever Indian, nevada and 2 others 4 1
deepdynamo Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 For so many test matches, we have been wasting Washington potential with bat by giving him a run at No. 7/8. Always believed he has the game & temprament to bat in Top 6. Just hope he will get a fair run now. We don't have any batsman who can bowl. Imagine what Washington can give us -- batting in Top 6 who can bowl well. Washington is a poor batsman with tail so lets see if he can bat with proper batsman. First sign-- promising. figo6762 Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Aussies called him as the Smith alike … starts batting lower will end up batting higher .. if ever Indian selectors listen nevada 1

Only in India do we play down our young guns. Let his critics name other players who had such an impactful first 12 tests in their careers especially away from home. Lord 1

Few superstars(batsmen) will be hyped rest will be abused. OTOH Poms hype Stokes so much that it actually makes him look better than he is. Tillu, Gollum and vvvslaxman 3

If you saw his innings, he wasn't bothered about his 100. Was blocking, blocking, blocking in his 70s like Pujara. Put the team first.

Vickydev Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Ideal long term #3 for me. Make Sai bat at 5, Pant 6 and we get a much more solid batting lineup Lord and Number 2
Gollum Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Has a 10fer and 100, just 25 years old, 12 tests. Instrumental in 2 marquee series victories, both in deciders. Ashwin who? Lord 1
Number Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 (edited) Does anyone remember he looked the most assured batter when Boland was spitting fire in Sydney test 2nd innings. He is special and it will be a big travesty of Indian cricket if we don't give him a chance at number 3. Edited July 27, 2025 by Number
vvvslaxman Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Take a listen. Not just Indians want Washingon to bat at no.3

Just that he has to adjust his mindset.
