Usually I defend & forgive BCCI for their mistakes...but the stupidity here has crossed next level.

 

Nothing to do with India v Pakistan, but if they wanted to do a ceremony they should have done it before the WC event starts. But BCCI here as crossed all limits of incompetence.

 

First giving reserve day for India v Pak in Asia Cup wasn't enough, now you're doing an opening ceremony right in the middle of tournament..when other teams will feel alienated and disrespected. Despite of the fact that we don't play Pakistan outside of ICC events.

 

Even now if BCCI has any shame, they should cancel this drama of opening ceremony. They will be a made fun for few days but then all will be forgotten. This farce act that they're doing is actually going to cause negative sentiments in teams across the world. It's not a bilateral tournament but a World Cup..treat everyone equally.

A section of BJP supporters was bashing poor Neeraj for being friendly with Arshad. Same lot were angry that Indian hockey team didn't boycott Asian Games to teach Pak a lesson, never mind AG is a qualifying event for Olympics. They will never let go off an opportunity to bash sportspersons (even cricketers) for these kind of things, heck they'll start using the Khalistani word when some Sikhs show camaraderie with Pakjabis. Shameless lot.

But when Modi g went to Lahore invited ISI to investigate Pathankot terror attack week later...  It was a master stroke according to them.

All this puts India as  home team under massive pressure - as it is if the pressure was not already enormous.

 

I would not be surprised at all if our team loses under this weight of pressure.  Pak has little pressure relatively.

 

No wonder Atherton predicted Pak will finally beat India in world cup.

 

BCCI is just doing everything they can to fulfill his prophecy.
