They can still mount a comeback. Depends on how they take this defeat.

It's not going to be easy against the other semifinal contenders though.

Australia will have a point to prove , England, NZ , SA are good sides as well.

likely that SA can thrash pak, because SA has monster spin hitters and Pak spin is super weak. almost ditto for Eng, who bat deep even though they don't have monster spin hitters.

Pak should be able to win comfortably vs the weak aussies though

Like in 2003, they couldn’t recover fro that Sachin onslaught

gave them a royal beat down then, and now too

They have Aus next who most likely will beat SL before that. If Aus beat Pakistan too , then the Afghan game becomes very tricky for Pakistan.

Yes I remember trolling the Pakistani origin people in my school in 1996 and 1999. The matches aren't even close nowadays.

they are one-sided beatdowns, although the gap is even bigger in hockey and other sports

Here’s my favorite in order of hierarchy:

2003 - Sachin brilliance

2011 - SF and all

1996 - Was in the stadium that day

2023 - didn’t watch live, but saw highlights

1992 - team effort

2019 - one sided

2015 - one sided

1999 - because it was inconsequential

SRT was crucial in many of those games, in that semi vs Pakistan in 2011.

People didn't want to give the britpaks reason to riot again perhaps.
