Trichromatic
I knew about Pakistan part, but didn't know that Mumbai is fixed in any other scenario. I found out this today itself. Mariyam 1 Link to comment

srgadjon
Chasing at this venue under lights against a good seam bowling attack will be a challenge as there will be extra zip, seam and swing under lights. If the batting side sees off the new ball, it will settle down as a good surface for batting. Edited November 2, 2023 by srgadjon Link to comment
cricspirit
This is a bad decision for India. Not sure why Mumbai is fixed for India. There should be nothing of this kind. Feels like taking home advantage by fixing a pitch and venue where in reality we get no advantage. Venues should be irrespective of which team gets the play there after group stage. Link to comment
MediumPacer
I don't know what you are implying.Once pak demanded kolkata, they couldn't then leave the sf unplanned. It's like arguing over whether the glass is half full or empty. Link to comment
velu
damn.. if this is possible , bcci should have scheduled both semis and finals which suits our strength Link to comment
velu
anywya i like the audacity of bcci to fix a stadium like this back to srini mama days .. boss move Link to comment
wanted_desi
If there is a place in India where we don't have an advantage: It would be this ground. Who remembers WI chasing 192 runs without losing much wickets. Insidious 1 Link to comment

So I don't see the problem in playing Semi final there as well. I don't think Mumbai offers any significant advantage over Kolkata asa a venue for India. cricspirit 1 Link to comment

India has better bowling and Kolkata offers more for bowlers. Kolkata is also a bigger ground which helps us against AUS/SA. Not sure if there is any commercial or political reasons for playing in MUMBAI. If we can play PAK in Kolkata why not anyone else. Link to comment

Gollum
Iirc it was fixed for Eng last time as well, and Aus/NZ before that, and Ind/SL in 2011. Home team advantage, and probably ticket sales Link to comment

Home team advantage, and probably ticket sales If India in Semi Finals then Tickets will sell out anywhere in India. Plus Eden has more seats. Mumbai has clear disadvantages for batting second. Not fair place for a semi final game. Link to comment
