Aussies switch to god mode in ICC events when it matters the most. There will be a sea of yellow in Ahmedabad. There will be a sea of blue in Amdavad and yet Aussies will choke India. Hold me accountable if any of these predictions is wrong. The basis of my predictions is - Aussies are traditionally totally opposite of India - they become monsters in BIG knockout games - and we choke. Just sample how they bowled SA cheaply - while NZ gave us a mighty scare. Predictions : 1) Aussies will win the toss and bat first -scoring 300+ 2) Both Kohli and Virat - have not had a single game where both have failed - it is overdue and given the nature of our performances - they will both fail in the finals. 3) As a result we will lose miserably, crushing dreams of 1.4 billion people. 4) Steve Smith who has been silent all world cup will come to his own against his favorite team - India Don't see anything else other than Aussies performing in beast mode and India falling apart like we did in 2003 WC. rangeelaraja
Lets not forget - Starc is the greatest fast bowler in world cups - just look at his record. When the game has a WC "semi-final" or "final " on it - the balls swings in late into the right hander at pace for Starc - and this rest is history. In 2015 WC- Starc ended both the semi-final against India and final against NZ - in his very first spell... Thats what champions - on the big day - they just bury the opposition and don't even them time to breathe. And Starc has done it again - in the semis against South Africa today. What a CHAMPION. Compare Chokrah to this .....the bigger game the more frequently the ball goes short & wide - hit me 4s. Thats why Aussies are 5 time world champions and we are losers. These are not anti-jinx posts - but our bloody reality. Edited November 16, 2023 by rangeelaraja Link to comment
rangeelaraja
Also our unlucky mascot Richard Kettleborough is going to be umpiring the final. Kettleborough - has been umpire in each and every knockout match we have lost - its a coincidence that cannot be shrugged off. Just go check the scorecards. In the whole damn ICC are there no other competent neutral umpires for India's matches ? We won the semis comfortably in the end because he was not umpiring - he is going to do his panauti for India in the finals. Link to comment

If we had Shardul and Hardik in the team as in the beginning of the tournament, we would have most likely lost the game. The wrecking ball aura that our bowling unit had developed has been severely dented. Don't see us winning the final unless we enjoy multiple lucky breaks. Link to comment

Aussies just have 3 more gears on the big day, while other teams just falls apart. Starc's performance today was so predictable. What is even more predictable is Smith's announcement in the final in Amdavad - that he is still the greatest clutch batsman of the modern era. Siraj will help leak more runs in the finals - ensuring Aussies have the platform for a massive score after they win the toss and bat first. I were in the team management - I would prepare a slow dry surface for the finals - drop Siraj and get Ashwin in place. Ashwin has a terrific record against Aussies and will keep it tight - unlike Siraj. Link to comment
mani sha
Chill It’s going to be a good match their weakness - lack of good spinners trust the modi stadium to have a turning pitch. India to likely go with three spinners with Shami and bumrah or keep same team with rohit as off spinner . Link to comment

cricspirit
P-r-e-MATURE E-JJA-CUU-LA-TION.. Not uncommon here. Australia struggling to make 213 runs and they already are champions for timid, always afraid, negative thinking, impatient crowd. Link to comment

India will be chasing on Sunday. Australia ALWAYS bats first in big games if they win the toss - check back all their big games from the past where they have won the toss. deathmonger
Lol at the fear. The Aussie teams which defeated Ind in 2003 and 2015 were the favourites and were way stronger than India and won the cup. 2011 they were weaker and we won, in Ahmadabad itself. This same Aussie team was smashed in the 2019 semi. Patterns are patterns, nothing more. Their dominance was due to the 99-07 team. 15 they were a good team in home conditions. cricspirit, Jamadagni, Old guy and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment

Look back at past world cups. The umpires for the finals are chosen from semi-final pool and umpires are changed to ensure there is neutrality. Our game vs. NZ had 1 Aussie umpire and 1 English umpire ( RIchard Illingworth ) Aus vs. SA has Nitin Menon and Richard Kettleborough So if India is playing Aus in finals - Nitin Menon and the Aussie umpire won't be officiating. The umpires for the final will be Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth- both from England Norman 1 Link to comment

And it was not at all the same core - only Raina, Kohli, Ashwin and Dhoni were common. And Kohli and Ashwin in 2011 were not even part of the main core. No Sachin, Gambhir, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Zaheer, Harbhajan etc. Aus had a massive upgrade with Warner, Finch, Smith, Starc, Hazlewood etc. Add in the conditions and there was no way India was gonna win.
