I would've given it to Pandya but he's not fit enough to play odis. I say give it to Gill, Jaiswal, or even someone like Rinku Singh. Let a youngster lead for a change instead of a TTF and a stat padder. KL has shown he can't handle adversity and he's obsessed with milestones. I say get in a new coach and pair a youngster with him.

Pandya will get the job

Will they persist with old man Sharma or give the captaincy to the next in line KL "the meek" Rahul?

Ideally need a fresh face with new thinking, a Graeme Smith moment, but likely they will annoint Rahul as new captain. With Dravid as coach the combo could plumb lower depths.

Tests to be given to Bumrah/Ashwin. ODI's to Gill, Pandya is anyway there for T20's.

Did we not lose the SA test series with KL as the captain?

Ind's WC campaign may not hv ended the way Rohit would hv wanted to but there is nothing for him to feel embarassed about.  So, this is the ideal time (and opportunity) for him to officially announce retirement from whiteball cricket.  No way he is playing 2027WC.  (He would hv turned 40 by then)

But then, as always, I m wondering what is stopping him from announcing it?   It has been almost 24 hrs since the defeat.  If he can appear in 2 hr long pre-match conference before the final game, can't he find a few minutes to announce retirement?
