Who'll be our next Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni & Raina?

Need North Indian batters with aggressive attitude and fight in the belly. Nice boys southies are better for tests but not in white ball cricket. :wp12:

Seriously though, I don't think we are producing tough cricketers anymore. Other than Rishabh and Siraj in last 5-6 years I haven't seen one.

Siraj is the opposite of tough - the guy crumbles at the hint of pressure, and is fast bowling equivalent of Chahal :phehe:

I think he is mostly about rhythm. Some bowlers are like that. In LOIs he needs to learn to contain when things are not going his way.

But in tests he is a fighter. The way he bowled in Gabba test 2nd innings and then got us the famous Lords test win by ripping apart English lower middle order was legendary. He stood up the most when wickets were hard to come by.

He's in rhythm against SL. The guy loses it everytime once attacked just like Chahal. He's good for Tests but not a good white ball player, especially T20s, unless there's something in the pitch.

While I agree, Rohit should have stuck with the same plan of using Siraj on top. Siraj relies on swing and Shami had too much swing yeaterday which he could not control and the ball was going down the line for our mediocre wicket-keeper to handle and he kept giving byes.  Even though Shami got us the breakthorugh, overall plan, and Siraj’s bowling took a hit and it cost us a lot. Siraj looked easily playable and was one of the dummy things we did on the field along with various poor field settings.

Besides the names mentioned above, Tewatiya and Patidar are promising but they were never given a game and both are close to 30 or already 30. But if they happen to be in red hot form close to the T20 WC, at-least one should be picked. Our stars are baggage carrying losses. We need fresh players unburdened by baggage.

I am more concerned about who will be our next Bumrah & Shami.

I thought Siraj would be the next Shami but he has proved underwhelming. We should appoint Shami as bowling coach as soon as he retires.
