Lord Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 It's become some sort of a trend to talk bad about Gandhi. He wasn't perfect but his role in Independence movement can't be denied.

He wasn't perfect but his role in Independence movement can't be denied. But it has become more fashionable to call anybody from RW as his killers. It's undeniable that he was a nuisance to Hindus especially when leading to partition and aftermath. He was a deep Hindu hater (or a Minoritariian) along with Nehru.

His role in independence movement as anything more than ancillary, is not justified by any objective evidence. Lord 1

Anyone who says submit yourself to someone who is killing is a stupid and not worthy enough to be called leader. It’s not a trend all that information was suppressed and now with internet age it can’t be anymore. Congress suppressed all this information. Where was Gandhi when countless Hindus , Sikhs and others are brutally killed in Pakistan ? Edited December 16, 2023 by gattaca Lord and Muloghonto 1 1

He wasn't perfect but his role in Independence movement can't be denied. Yeah. He was a very flawed man. Like most "icons" of the past were. He was clearly racist earlier in his life and he thought little of coloured folks in South Africa for instance. Also, he was a very confused soul who struggled to balance the Hindu ideal of chastity and his own personal obsession with sex which many found abnormal and his ashram was an embodiment of his own conflicting views on the matter And for all his supposed support for secularism , he simply was too embedded in Hindu culture and wanted his own version of "Ram Rajya" whether that was acceptable or not to many conservative Hindus. Also, was a megalomaniac and suffered from a saviour complex Central to the independence movement but not a role model worthy individual as GOI kept pushing into school textbooks for years For all his faults, Nehru was a much more admirable man in many ways - in terms of his personal morality and certainly was more pragmatic in his approach . bharathh Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 MK Gandhi was not a flawed man. He was a genocidal apologist and egomaniac, like his favorite chela, Nehru. Nehru was a POS. I think enough and more has been said about him. I hope both of them get confined to the dustbins of history soon. Muloghonto 1

MKG had his own version of Ram Rajya and preached Ishwar Allah to Hindu Temples only , never seen it sing in a Mosque! His sayings on how Hindus should submit to Muslims in riots is well known. Nehru had documented proof of his Anti-Hinduness , he hated going to Temples and claimed the dark alleys of Temples very depressing , also opposed Somnath temple re-construction as it brings Hindu revivalism!
ravishingravi Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 So Gandhi was who he was. And if you take out all the mythology one can see it. So it's one thing demystify the man. But I am trying to think in that complex scenario with tinderbox India split across caste and religion and princely states. Malnourished population reeling under poverty. What were India's options ? I mean what was the alternative. If this whole thing had to be played again with the scenario as it was, what else could have been done ? Lord 1
ravishingravi Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 75 years and still living in third world and in some cases abject poverty, really goes down the foundational routes of the country. Some very questionable perspectives not rooted in any first principles or vision. Appeasement was so deep rooted that it didn't give chance even to the muslims to get on their feet. For Hindus we had wonderful hindu growth rate. While China or Korea or Romania ir Indonesia escaped the middle income trap with rapid growth, today the govt in power can win elections promising roads, houses and water. Lord 1

I don't blame them but gandhi and nehru. My parents version of the whole shindig was patel was better than nehru or for that matter gandhi. they told me Sardar Patel was the reason we have a union today instead of a separate hyderabad and goa. They also hated gavaskar for participating instead of winning I'm assuming they hated gandhi and nehru as well.
