Senior Mumbai Indians’ players revolt against captain Hardik Pandya, lodge protest with coaching staff

During a meal, they shared their opinions and identified the causes behind the team's poor performance. MI is ranked ninth and are the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race in IPL 2024

Senior players of the Mumbai Indians have blamed Hardik Pandya’s leadership for their struggles in IPL 2024. After leading the team to five IPL titles, MI’s decision to sack current India captain Rohit Sharma hasn’t gone down well. Newly appointed skipper Hardik has been the target of constant booing from fans since the 17th season began. MI are ninth in the points table and became the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race in IPL 2024.

One of the MI officials stated that rather than being the sign of a leadership problem, this was simply the indication that the team is getting used to a new captain after playing under Rohit’s leadership for 10 years.

“For a team experiencing a change in leadership, these are the typical issues. In sports, this occurs all the time,” said the official.

According to the Indian Express, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah have lamented the team’s performance under Hardik’s captaincy, with many feeling that the squad performed better under Rohit’s leadership.

During a meal, they shared their opinions and identified the causes behind the team’s poor performance.

Additionally, it has been revealed that several seniors players informed the coaching staff and the other members of the team management that Hardik’s captaincy has been the biggest reason behind the franchise’s failure.

Following the team’s defeat against the Delhi Capitals, Hardik allegedly blamed Tilak Varma for not having “match awareness” in his post-match remarks. The blame game did not end well, as Tilak and Pandya got into a massive argument after Hardik’s statement.

According to the source, most of the team members found it problematic to blame a player for the team’s failure.

Would be lying if I said I don't feel a little sympathy for him atm. Lol.

I don't know why Indians hate him so much. He's the only decent Pace bowling AR that we have got, by a long margin.

His biggest problem is injuries. But other than that he could bowl 140+, hit fairly big, is a good fielder and has played more 'clutch' knocks in imp matches than many of our regular batsmen.

IPL transfers like this for big name indian cricketers are unprecedented.....

Mumbai paid pandu an undisclosed amount under the table to join them.....

also paid GT an undisclosed amount under the table to let Pandu join MI...

to make this transfer go through....

but this transfer could not have gone through without a willing 3rd party....

since MI was over the cap......

so they contact Bangalore....

who had extra room in their cap due to all the players released (harshal, hasaranga etc).....

to take Cam Green who was 17 crore.....

but RCB did not want him outright and wanted to save auction budget....

since they could get cam green for less than 17 crore at auction....

but MI offered under the table crores to RCb to take Cam Green off their books.....

Bent what IPL rules? 100 cr under the tables to whom?

250 cr?

At this stage I think you are just throwing numbers.

I bet if Neeta Ambani were to step to Reliance Fresh to buy a few lemons you'd allege that she spent 30cr Rupees to buy 3 lemons bending rules and paying retailers under the table to evade taxes by showing the lemons as a bad investment: a hydroponic farm gone bad.

If its undisclosed, pray tell, how do you know about it?

Have you audited the :mi: books? Just curious.

Here is the financial statement for the assessment year 2022-2023. Care to show what you claim?

The amount is undisclosed. That it happened is disclosed.

Everyone knows that it happened. It's common sense. It happens everywhere. My friend's cousin's brother-in-law's neighbor saw an Ambani henchman with a sackful of cash waiting in front of HaPa's mansion to personally hand it to him.

Except we can see most of these things happening on the field and lack of team chemistry
