Rohit will be 40 by the time 2027 WC comes, Kohli will be 39. We  play very few ODIs nowadays. Time to groom youngsters is now.

If we take them to CT next year, new guys like Jaiswal, Rinku, Sai Sudarshan will get 10-15 ODIs (max) before the WC which is not ideal.

Unless Kohli gets injured or Rohit gives birth they are certain to play the Champions Trophy.

That's why I didn't take T20 retirements seriously. This is just the way to prolong their career in other formats..

They will certainly play 27 WC,as we are surely securing SFs of yet another ICC event(CT25)

+ They will again give 'not much time left for 50 over CWC in RSA ,we need eggsperienced guys 'churan

And we will have to bear them watching failing one more time

Kohli might pull through due to fitness but Rohit should make way ASAP. We also need to groom the new skipper.

Reflexes too go when you get to that age.

Sachin with a superior technique lost his reflexes by 2012, struggled badly.

Kohli will be able to play odis with ease in 2027 . He can play Odis in his sleep and still be effective.

Question is do we need him, What does it say about talent level available if 39 year old is still playing .

you have repeated the same thing .

Gavaskar cannot play cover drives and be effective where as Kohli can still score lot of runs at very decent rate even in 2027.

like how they have failed in 2024 t20 WC??? 2023 ODI final, it was not failure of rohit/kohli. We needed some one like axar to step up, an other contribution which was missing from SKY/GILL/SHREYAS AYYAR/JADEJA.    What's being overlooked is, hardiks loss for final was crucial blow. Rishab pant missing too did not help.

Rishab would have played instead of KL Rahul, Hardik would have played in Suryas place. The pitch doctoring by dravid too did not help.

By your logic,so they should play 50 CWC 27?

Kohli will be almost 39 and Rohit 40

Even Bumrah being a fast bowler will be 34

The great wasim akram was 33 when he played 1999 World Cup which he bossed. Bumrah is our premier fast bowler. he will/he should play.

Rohit may retire next year.

Kohli has match fitness, temperament and skillset to play 2027 World Cup.  It's not about youngsters/age. it all boils down to big match temperament, I think Kohli is the biggest clutch player india ever produced surpassing  dhoni/gambhir too. (Across formats)

Stop comparing  changes in eras. Sunil gavaskar batted with out helmet against deadly trio of Malcom marshal, Andy Roberts and goel garner.

Did sachin/lara ever do that ? Does that make sachin/lara inferior to sunil gavaskar.

With the advent of T20 cricket , the rules have changed.

It took the flattest Indian surfaces, 2 new balls & 2 first innings for BRat to elevate his sub 20 avg in KO games :whack3:

KO games in T20's ??????

2014 semis 76  against SA

2016 89 against WI

2016 82 against AUS

2022 82 against pak

2024 t20 76 in final.

2011 2015 2019 2023 ODI

2011---young kohli got 35

2015- Genuine failure

2019- umpire's call dismissal /unlucky lbw

2023- 54

2013 champions trophy final -43

2013 semis- 80+

2017 semis- 80 +

Barring 2011 ODI final, show me single innings of dhoni in knock out matches? You won't find.

I stand corrected when I have put Kohli ahead of gambhir, I think kohli is on par with gambhir.

lol Kohli fans take a hike. We have enough talent to replace him in ODIs. 2025 champions trophy he will retire along with Rohit.

Kohlis strength is his strong batting records against pace. He may push to play till 2027 ODI World Cup. The board can't sack Rohit/kohli easily, specially after 2024 t20 ODI World Cup.

He is then going for records. He already won a World Cup , t20 and champions trophy. What is he playing for ? He kept repeating he doesn’t care for records. That would be hypocrisy.
