As reported on Sunday, a very high-profile owner of an IPL franchise, who is very close to the BCCI top brass, told Cricbuzz that Gambhir's appointment is a done deal and the announcement will come soon

 

not sure if Cricbuzz is reliable but this seems to be getting a lot of traction.

gambhir will have limited autonomy if chosen. he will be made to serve as a bootlicker. he will either quit or succumb

True,as long as Rohit Kohli remain

No coach can have authority,they will be made rubber stamp coach

It's like you get one step forward and retreat 10 steps backwards by continuing with the likes of Rohit Kohli Jadeja Ashwin Siraj etc

Looks like it's becoming more and more a reality now. VVS is apparently not at all interested and foreign guys are more interested in collecting short term IPL moola.

 

With GG One thing is for sure though... it'll either be the best masterstroke and we'll finally win big titles or we will see an unprecedented crisis in terms of player management. No in betweens..

 

Ofcourse all this is for nought if BCCI shows us the usual middle finger and promotes Vikram Rathore to head coach..

GG won't take such drastic steps at one go.

Though I believe he will open the doors for Harshit Rana & possibly Mayank Yadav.

We may also see some role based selections.
