Which WT20 win you enjoyed more

I'd still say 2007 is slightly better

Both! The first one (2007) was special as it came after the deflating WC2007, and the heroes were youngsters under a new captain! Yuvi's 6 6s were special and also beating Pak in the final :agree:

The 2nd one (2024) was special as we remained unbeaten and got the monkey of not winning tourney for 10 years off our back. Plus we kicked out Pak, Aus and Eng out of the tourney on our way. Also, winning from unwinnable positions against Pak and SA made it extra special :yay:

Amazing tourneys both and can't really pick one over the other :isalute:

2007

We were down and out but beat SAF in a must win game and by NRR, then Australia in the semi finals and then Pakistani in the finals.

That world cup has everything

Bowl out

Yuvis six sixes

Sreesants fiery spell to get rid of Hayden and gilly.

2024 was better. 2007 was great but it had that novelty factor and nobody knew what the hell they were doing for the most part.

Fun cricket with nothing really on the line

This was serious business and about demolishing the narrative that India are perennial underperformers .   And to some extent this event will define the legacies of all these players.

Went for 2007 as the first one is special :agree:

I do not remember many world T20s after 2007. I only remember in patches like "Remember the name" moment,  Mike hussey pulling off a heist.  Trust me Virat kohli's 82 against AUstralia i didn't even remember until his innings of 82 against Pakistan lol. I did watch. But i forgot. But i can remember everything from 2007. That was epic.

I remember in 2009 or 2010 we got bounced on a spicy pitch and all the teams employed that strategy. We got embarrassed. I honestly don't remember a damn thing from 2014 WC even though we made the final. I vividly remember 2016 WC SF and England windies final. 2021 WC was a snoozefest and I remember arshdeep drop catch of bishnois bowling. 2022 of course kohlis incredible innings and then wade dismantling Afridi in the semi finals.

But 2007 I vividly remember even though it was so far ago. Flintoff sledging Yuvi and then Yuvi smacking broad for 6 sixes.

Karthiks catch off kemp. RP Singh yorking Pollock. Bowl out against the Pakistani. Uthappa charging and smacking for a six in the Australia game. Yuvi flick 6 off Brett Lee. Sreesanth coming back into the spell and clean bowling Hayden and gilly and of course the celebration after Hayden dismissal.  Harbhajan yorking clarke and then tony greig going harbhajan give it to me I'll bowl it. That game had ATG commentary.

One vivid memory of 2007 was when I was in college taking physics lab. The instructor was indian. He had specifically instructed everyone not to use the computers for anything other than lab work and if caught they would fail the class. There I was refreshing Cricinfo every minute and then minimizing Internet Explorer every time instructor would come around. I believe it was the final but I can't really recall. Anyways, one time I didn't realize the instructor was walking around again and I was refreshing. Just as he walked towards me from the back, instead of minimizing, I closed Internet Explorer. That instructor told me to step away and he was checking my computer if I was looking at something. Thankfully I closed and didn't get caught. But then again, I changed major and graduated in IT anyways. :phehe:

both in a way.

2007 had a great run vs eng, sa, aus, pak - all must win. eng had 6 6's. sa had collapse on pacy pitch, rohit beginning, rp singh. then defeating the godlike aussies (they had that aura) and then defeating pak so closely.

rivaled only by the 2011 run of aus-pak-sl where all matches were a bit tough

2024 was our usual comfortable group stage massacre that we have in recent times but the drought was there. semi had 2022 memories but was very comfortable. final is prolly the best match india ever won in world cups (07 final ind had almost won, misbah revived but couldn't cross the line). this was opposite - india had almost lost but it was turned back.

That bounced out was in Barbados too. It used to be the fastest pitch in West Indies.

2007 was electric and played in SA ofc some big names in almost every team.

SA were knocked out despite winning all games and then ko'ed in final league game vs India. It was a do or die game.  That match was arguably my favourite T20 game ever on a pacy pitch.

SF vs Australia was special too that Yuvi knock and Sreesanth spell

Night T20s have a special charm.

2024 was a relief... Final being the best game.
