Dravid continued as coach after ODI WC loss in 2023, because of Rohit

So, it was because of Ro that Dravid continued till Wt20. Otherwise, Dravid would have quit after WC loss in 2023. Blame Ro for persisting with Dravid.

Rohit is the one who insisted on Chahal too, and probably Dube over Rinku

So Jammy decided to quit. OKay nice to know. I think players are comfortable with Rahul Dravid. Although i don't rate his selections like pushing KL Rahul to keep and sit Pant out , dropping kuldeep right after MOM, dropping Kishan right after 200, backing trundlers   seems like Players seems to be having an easy going atmosphere around him. It is expected given the nature of Dravid.  He is going out on a high. Happy for him.  I am not sure how Gambhir's tenure will be. Hope it doesn't end up like LSG.

Gg's tenure with LSG was good as well. A new team reached play offs twice.

Rohit has been a tad lucky on some occasions.   His gamble has somewhat paid off.   Dube scored 27 from 16 in the Final (when it mattered the most).  That was the most crucial stage when Kohli was simply looking to anchor the inning till the last over.  Don't think Rinku in place of Dube would hv batted at a higher SR.    Deep down within, every true indian fan (incl. Me) knows that Rinku is better than Dube anyday.

We overall had luck in this WT20. Didn't face NZ in Super 8 and Aus game didn't matter for qualification. Then turner in semis and SA in finals. Smooth journey.

 

But we deserved that luck

BTW I heard Anshuman Gaikwad is battling cancer and his family is requesting BCCI to pay hospital bills.. Was the salary so less in the early 2000s ?

Must've been.  Not sure. I just don't remember the guy having any presence in the media compared to Woolmer or even Miandad back in '99.

Apparently, they were all chilling and Bob Simpson who was a consultant for the World Cup was not pleased with the environment since he came from a system that was lightyears ahead in terms of professionalism

Yes people don't remember he inherited a divided dressing room with Rohit Kohli rift. Now nobody talks about it. 

 

We had injuries to key players in his tenure else results could have been better.
