Don't take bilaterals too seriously.

0-2 doesn't hurt. What hurts is we didn't try out more youngsters in the games.

Absolutely,What still heart the most is 23 wc final and maha lodu Dravid pitch tampering and his maha fattu chela kela once in a lifetime performance.

Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Dhruv Jurel should be given an extended run in ODIs. Pant and KL Rahul should be completely discarded.

Yes a batsman who was averaging 40 with strike rate of 110 should be completely discarded based on one single match on a difficult pitch after a huge injury lay off.

That avg of 40 with SR of 110 was pre-injury. (ie near fatal accident).  Post-injury he is not the same cricketer.  The skill set and reflexes hv regressed.    Same thing happened with Yuvi post cancer treatment.  He single handedly cost us the WT20 2014.

one ODI is enough to deduce that? Where everyone failed.

Agreed to an extent. Pant should be given a series or two to prove he still has it in him else move on. He's still the starter for Tests and TBH Tests is his best format.

Need Jaiswal in ODI set up.  End of road for Iyer Kela ..  has to be.

Harshit was mysteriously benched throughout.   Him and Mayank should play T20s vs BD in September along with Nitish Reddy.

Sundar should be no 1 off spin all rounder.

Parag in Middle order in T20 and ODIs and in playing XI for CT.

only one of Parag and Sundar should be playing. I prefer Parag on normal tracks.

When did I say one ODI?  Pant failed in the entire WT20. (That knock of 41 vs Pooks was as fluke as it can get. 3 dropped catches.  And 2 thick outside edges going between 2nd & 3rd slip)

He's always failed in T20Is so that wasnt anything new. Talking about ODIs

What we learned from SL odi series.

Jaiswal should be partnering Rohit .

Middle order of Virat,Iyer,Rahul is very weak.

Siraj Arshdeep are incapable as replacement for Shami,Bumrah.Selectors should look beyond Mukesh,Avesh,Khaleel.

Wicket taking spinner should be identified and groomed.

Gill, Iyer ,Rahul and Siraj need to go. They were also the biggest failures in that WC finals loss with SKY being the other one.

Bring in Jaiswal, Rinku and throw Jurel into the deep end to see if he swims. That kid has a fantastic head on his shoulders and will definitely come good. Bring in Harshit or other young fast bowlers to develop bench strength for the 2027 wc in SAF where we'll most likely need 5 pace options in the squad.

1. Our ability to play spin is worse than England or SA.

2. Without Bumrah & Shami our fast bowling is zilch.

3. We don't have any backups (atleast in the eyes of selectors). For point no 2, replacement is Avesh & Mukesh.

4. Jaiswal has to be there in top 2 of this team. No matter who is crucified for him.

That is nonsense,

We can play spin just fine, one bad series does not mean Indian cannot play spin.

India got all out for 54 when Sanath Scored 189. Did it mean Sachin and could not play both spin and fast bowling.

Why are people overreacting for couple of losses.  SL played well and won, no need to dissect it  more .They are allowed to win sometimes.

The problem is the coach, why did he not play Harshit even in one match, other than that there is nothing wrong in losing the series.

that Siraj and Arshdeep are poor options in ODIs.

that we need batsmen who can actually play spin. Not frauds like Iyer and Doobe. However not too worried about this as next WC is in SA.

WC in SA will present its own set of problems. So far we were able to bat deep thanks to our spin based all-rounders in Axar, Sundar and Parag. In SA we need to add pace based all-rounders. Someone like Nitish Reddy or Venky Iyer. We haven't tried anyone yet and we're still putting all eggs in Pandya basket. If Pandya gets injured, WC 2027 is doomed. We can't win with 5 bowlers and need to have some pace all-rounder options.

I think we can play 1-2 spin allrounder and rest pacer/pace AR. Kuldeep shouldnt be considered.

Parag if he develops well can be great option alongwith Axar. For spinners batting ability is as much important

For pacers we need to zero in on guys who can hit the deck, generate bounce and hurry the batsmen. Don't see Shami playing then, so our options to try are Harshit/AkashDeep/Mayank/Siraj alongwith Reddy/Venky as pace AR (only if they actually bowl).
