Even recently he hasn't done anything big. When was the last time he scored 2 tons in a series or averaged above 50 playing more than 2 Tests? Is highly inconsistent and fails in Aus everytime.

Sarfaraz is not a long term test batsman material especially overseas where India play a lot. KL is better than his stats, nobody faced tough conditions and tough away tours as much as KL in Tests. Test is being played in India and they won't offer Ban pure seaming conditions either I don't think TM is thinking this one to be a preparatory match for Aus,they are taking BD quite seriously now Sarfaraz on current form is better than him in home conditions

Nikhil_cric Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Said it in that Duleep Trophy match thread, they have clearly seen that Yash Dayal bowls that good length consistently. Around 70 % iirc. However, he is a left armer and he is just short of the pace needed in Australia. Hopefully , it's just for this series.

Yes,once he reaches his quota he hibernates Infact they should even try to accommodate Jurel I'm worried about even Gill,he's actually become 'the other kela' Manucrick, Lord and Mosher 3

One match isnt everything. He averages 34 in 50 Tests and 38 in 2024,28 and 17 two years before that. How are these great numbers? Edited September 8, 2024 by Lord Frustrated and Number 2

He has been invested enough, time to get the output as he is at peak and there is a high chance you will get that, particularly in pacy and bouncy conditions. In India also vs England ,he got a 90 odd in first test before he got injured.

It's an ugly awkward technique where he relies simply on his hands. Only time where I saw him consciously trying to get his full weight through the ball was Asia Cup when he smashed Shaheen Frustrated 1

Rohit also has poor record in Aus by the way. KL has much better game vs pace and bounce than Sarfaraz who will most likely not stand a chance against tall bouncy aggressive on the face Australian fast bowlers in their conditions. Sarfaraz needs to observe for one tour and be with the team before he ultimately gets to know what it takes to succeed overseas
