Harshit Rana should've been picked instead of Bumrah. Doesn't make sense to play Bumrah and good to see what Harshit can do as need guys with pace in Australia. Also, they could've probably given Musheer Khan a go instead of KL Rahul. Musheer seems mature and quite talented, and would've been a great left field pick.

Test and T20s are different formats..the players may perform differently..it doesnt mean i am advoacting Yash Dayal's selection though..

Too early for Musheer.  Let him play A tour games.  Not a finished product from whatever I saw in U19 WC final in Benoni where Aussie quicks troubled him with pace and Bounce.

Can't take a rookie like him to Australia.

yeah we need him to be a better bowler,not an all rounder but a bowler we can rely on to get a few wickets if we need it.

Nitish reddy also has outside chance as Dubey won't be selected.a bouncer he bowled yesterday to hit kuldeep yadav on his helmet was 136.5k n perfect height.

But I was impressed with akashdeep..immaculate line n length n I am sure his pace will improve.

Agree, what I meant to say was 3 or 4 quicks in the XI. Overal, yes we need to have atleast 5-6 fast bowlers.
Nitish Reddy is good, has shown that he has the raw ingredients, but he need to develop it more. I sense batting is his stronger suit than bowling, and I see glimpses of Shane Watson in him (Watto was very similar to Nitish when started). But I don't see him going to Australia at this moment as long as Ashwin & jadeja are in the mix.

Dube, well I think it would be un-wise to consider him an allrounder. He is more like Ganguly or at max Nathan Astle with bowl. Can give you few overs here and there, but isn't a reliable bowler. Nitish is much better than him.

There's unsettling confusion as to if and where to play Gill and KL Rahul. Honestly, Rohit shan't play either of them. Heck, they can't even be depended on as senior India A players to chase a pretty easy total for their supposed calibre. Sincerely feel that Sarfaraz and Axar Patel should play above both of them. The balance will be awesome with 3 spinners and 3 pacers in Indian pitches, and Patel has been in solid touch for so long, everybody is growing a beard waiting for his consistent selection in Test matches. Saved his team's ass in both the innings, like Musheer Khan. They can even play the extra spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, instead of Axar Patel as Ban have plenty of left-handers and keep the batting order till No 7 at Ashwin. Or, they can replace Ashwin with Yadav. But, please don't play Gill or Rahul.

He definitely isn't a finished product by any means but has the right attitude. Not sure about taking a meek KL to Aus. In Aus you need guys like Pant, and meek players like KL get shown up. Earlier it made sense to go with KL as backup wkt keeper. But with Jurel staking a claim, Sarfaraz and Musheer are a better bet in the middle order compared to KL.

He is ok for home tests and is aggressive but falls short for that crucial middle order (No.5 ) role . He seems like the kind who comes for few years and fades away.  Not that I want KL Rahul back.

Musheer bowls left arm spin too. Can be a very handy batting alrounder.
