Conquering India - Teams that won the Test Series in India since 1990

Yup, since 90s we usually drop one series a decade. The sad part is we lost the series to a mediocre Kiwi side. All the otehr winners were potential ATG teams - SA under Cronje, ATG Aussie team, Eng team at their peak. This loss came against a team with a nearly retired Southee and a half-decent Santner as the main bowlers :((

Losing is inevitable at some point but the lack of fight from India hurts a lot! NZ just had to show up for this series and were gifted it on a platter. When England won a test series against us, KP played ATG level, Swann and Monty bowled very well. In two games this series, our batsmen have gone AWOL and lost the game by the first innings itself.

This is the worst series loss in at least 3 decades if not more. We lost against a terrible side that had lost even to SL few months ago, were missing their best batsman and the bowling was nondescript.

There should be no excuses for such a horrendous loss. The captain and coach and senior players who failed should be thrown out immediately. Rohit and Kohli are in such bad form that they will not find a spot in any international Test team, except India.

Depends on whether we've seniors with "experience" of losing to all and sundry in the team. With Kohli, Rohit and KL, all bets are off the table.

Australia was no 1 test side in 2004.

England was no 1 in 2012.

@Gollum

This sh**t Kiwi side is ranked no 6 & had won zero overseas Tests prior to this series in WTC history.

Proper Belt treatment needed to Chokli Vadapav and Gambhir for this humiliation.

Losing to this Kiwi team is a humiliation of the first order. How you can allow bowling lineup headed by Southee and Santner roll you over for 46 and 156 is mind-boggling. Surely, there has to be repercussion from this. In the past people would've been axed and now all the failures are getting ready for vacationing in Australia.

Motherchords don't want people to expect even a 50 from them, such entitlement

You expect atleast one 100 from your 15-16 years experienced veterens

Ganguly a truly underrated cricketer, even did well in his last few years and batted so well in his last series,so as SRT did,Dravid rakes up 3 100s when everyone was falling like 9 pins in England 2011,even an equally Oldman Ashwin besides being primarily a bowler batted so well against BD saved their sorry arses

These guys are so proud, failed two times at home when everything was in their favour

Though not part of WTC, NZ did win a test series in '21 in England.

Anyway I have lost interest in cricket now, similar to 2011-12 period. Good for productivity.

Pak won 2-1 in 1999

That Kolkata test was played two months after the Delhi test as part of Asian test championship

The test series was 1-1

If same team plays SL right now we will lose by an inns in Galle and Colombo.

Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Bradman incarnate Mendis will end Ashwin and Fraudeja's career.

We might even lose to Pakistan on spinning pitches.

While Aus of 2004 is on another level.. Eng in 2012 did a pretty good job and our Fab 4 on last legs had to play against a good/decent Swann Panesar and a future great in Anderson.

Losing to this pathetic NZ side is on another level. Its similar to losing to Aus in Ahmedabad.

Australia was second best team in the world cup with a massive knockout pedigree. This NZ team is such a middle table team, we cannot compare with 2023. This is similar to 2019 semis loss, really. A mediocre Nz team knocks out huge favorites
