Indian T20 team is unstoppable

We shouldn't plan batting around how No. 9-11 can bat..  8 batsmen are good enough for 20 overs.. Historically, we've had the 'all rounder' at 7 and then 4 bowlers.. Now, we have the luxury of 8 batters given the addition of Nitish and Axar.

 

Abhishek, Samson, Tilak, SKY, Parag/Nitish, Rinku, Pandya, Axar looks a mighty impressive top 8.

And we'll have 12 overs of tight bowling from Bumrah, Arsh and VC.

A year before T20 world cup 2026, we are set already.
I am scratching my head how to fit Nitish Reddy in a squad of 15. Maybe Parag has to miss out.
Even Washington place is not certain.

THey can't add jaiswal too now.. Damn. All are playing Ranji now. If Riyan parag is available they can draft him in  and ask Nitish Reddy to open the innings.

Get anyone to open in T20.. doesn't matter. Bring in Jurel or Sundar and have them open.

Parag is selected for Shani trophy alongwith,Cha had,why is he not selected for T20 series.

We saw what happened today. Nearly lost it from comfortable position whereas Eng continued hitting after 6 down and added quick runs.

 

Boom,Arsh and current VC together is too long a tail and will bite us in knockouts.

TBH, Today's win was the least convincing of recent time.  It was more of a fluke. Wides, NB (free hits) and dropped catch by Eng cost them big time.

Happens all the time in T20.  I thought Eng deserved to win but margins are ever so small in this format.

Remember they are at full strength & I mean this was the best T20 bowling attack you will ever see in a bilateral.  All these guys normally will only play high profile tests or ICC games

It was coz we didn't have proper batters for the format. Sundar doesn't deserve to be in the T20 team. They should've gotten likes of Parag and Ramandeep in there.

The problem was the transition batters(Pandaya and Jurel) from top order to lower order didnt get any runs , this was a decent total, eng is playing their top bowling line-up.

 

If these 2 would have batted well this total would have been an easy chase and the runs scored by Arsh, ravi and sundar were not required. Sundar played a good hand but still lack the power hitting for t20Is, both his 4s to wood would have been catches if there were fielder at those places., but still a good hand in that situation.

 

Commentators were going after Arsh and Axar for the shots they played, thought those shots were good plan that didnt go well, 4/6 in that situation would have meant that game is gone from eng. hands, these kind of series you need to try those options, see if you have execute those shots in dicy situation.

 

T20 is about taking risks.

Three controversial takes:

(1) Rinku's place is shaky as well. Could have used him today, but I think he needs another big IPL (unlike last year) to feel secure. No more deferring to Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer etc. Needs to play like he is the boss.

 

(2) Just bring Bumrah in only for the WC. No need for him in any bilaterals or other minor tourneys.

 

(3) No need for Pant in the T20i set up. He is just not suited for this format. Samson and Jitesh/maybe Abhishek Porel for w/k slot.

His six off the free hit reminded me of the 2021 Gabba 6 against Pat Cummins (Yes, I am stuck in past glory). In both cases, it defined the turning point of the match.

Yes thats the only place he can hit 6, either helping the ball in that direction or playing the flick shot. 

Can not believe he did not work on his batting even when he was billed as he is going to play for Ind someday. Its hard to slot some1 as specialist off-spinner in t20 side.

 

Off spin has to come from a genuine batter, like maxwell does it for Aus or livingstone for eng.

TBF, he's been injury free only for the past several months. The next year is crucial for him.
