Jaishankar visited Pakistan last month. He said , I am going to attend SCO meeting. its not a one on one talks with pak but multi nation summit. 

 

Why is that acceptable and not Indian team is not going to Pak for bilateral series but to play a multi nation tournament. The only logic I can see is something went wrong during that meet.

This is still a huge PR win for pakistan regardless of what happens after a few years. BCCI has come across as weak here.

There is no question of India agreeing to hybrid model.  Pakistan not coming to India doesn't make much of a difference. 90% revenue is generated by India. It's all about revenue.

It won't happen and there won't be any hybrid matches for ICC events hosted in India. This is all done to keep Pakistani awaam happy.

 

WT20 2026 already has a co-host in SL and all Pak matches (exl. the one against India) will be played there plus one semi final. This was the original plan anyway and nothing to do with PCBs demands. However, the final will be in India 100%.

 

ICC when the time comes near the tournament will tell PCB 'Woh aapke saath chota sa prank hua tha. Woh raha camera, thora smile aur wave kar dijiye'

 

Having said all that, I still firmly believe India should have travelled to Pakistan for this CT. If every team can, not sure why can't we. Just go and beat them at their home. And if you don't want to, just sit out from this event and let PCB host this tournament without India. What is the point of this hybrid drama for one team and making it inconvenient for all other 7 participating teams? We are less that 2 months away from the event and not even sure where it will be played. LOLZ.

 

Also, lets be honest it is all India's internal BJP politics at play and nothing to do with security etc. We were not born yesterday to believe in all these.

Yes & anyone thinking BJP is serious about solving Pak issue is living in cuckoo land. After ABV no one's seriously touched the Pak issue ever, not even Modi with his Pak holiday theatrics in the first year!

The ICC has finally reached a breakthrough in the 2025 Champions Trophy impasse, with a hybrid model agreed upon that will see India's matches in the eight-team event taking place at a neutral venue. In return, Pakistan's matches in ICC events hosted by India will also take place at a neutral venue.

 

ESPNcricinfo has seen a resolution with details of the agreement, which went through an ICC board vote. In the agreement, during the 2024-2027 event cycle, all matches involving India in an event hosted in Pakistan will be played at a neutral venue, and in return all matches involving Pakistan in an event hosted by India will be played at a neutral venue. In both instances, all matches are taken to include knockout games such as the semis and the final.

 

The agreement begins with the 2025 men's Champions Trophy in Pakistan, and will apply to the 2025 women's ODI World Cup in India, and the 2026 men's T20 World Cup which is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. 

 

So congrats I guess, India as a host, will now play its own semis and finals in different countries if Pakistan qualify for them. Major win for BCCI! Strongest board ever!
