Seriously what was the point of sending Siraj today ahead of Akashdeep? While the team has some issues I consider being poor tactically and not making the right decisions to be equally problematic. We bat first when we should field and vice versa, often don't pick the right team combinations and don't rotate bowlers well or set the correct fields to induce mistakes from the batsmen or put pressure on them. We seem intent on making it hard for ourselves for no reason at all.

There can be no explanation for such a big blunder.

Some bowling changes, field settings etc can at least be explained with what captain was thinking in the middle but this was totally inexplicable.

There is no reasoning.

I think TM just play Rock - Paper - Scissor and whoever wins goes to bat first.

Do not question the mastermind Rohit. He also purposefully dropped head in the first innings to make sure this match ends in a draw

Sarvam Sharmamayam.

He thinks 10 moves in advance. If he wasn't a cricket-star, he would've taken up chess and Gukesh would've been a nobody.

All this started happening with Rohit returning to the team. Here's a list of errors...

1. Poor decision at the toss to bowl first based on seniors scared to bat on Day 1.

2. Poor planning and field sets for Travis Head.

3. Clueless while Aus was batting.

4. Hiding behind Pant when Rohit should've batted ahead as a specialist batter.

5. Sending Siraj ahead at 9 when Siraj's a genuine no. 11. Akash Deep showed in home Tests he's a much better bat than both Siraj and Bumrah but looks like seniority dictates batting order as well.

Overall, the team hasn't looked like a team with Rohit returning. I still say tht this Aussies team is beatable if we replace Rohit and Kohli with youngsters. These two add no value and drag rest of the team down.

That decision to bat first at Chinnaswamy against Nzl was a masterstroke too.

I'm not even going to the home series as that will end up being a book. I'm simply talking the 2 Tests in Aus so far that Lord Rohit has managed to captain and ruin the team so far.

Against NZ, every single decision and thinking was wrong - from team selection (no Jurel and Axar when they were the stars against Eng), poor choice of pitches, poor field sets and allowing NZ to get away etc.

Yes in short period he has made shocking decisions.

GG either allows him and or is as bad.

If it is any consolation the Aussie fans are just as irritated with the captaincy of Cummins but the options to replace him are few like Head(who does not want it at all) or Carey(who might be another Paine). Cummins's  NSW buddy Hazlewood has done him no favors either.

Cummins is much better captain easily.

I won't judge Gambhi based on Rohit's incompetency. We've seen Gambhir captain and he was an amazing captain both at intl level (when he got a chance to captain) and in IPL. He was unlucky to play at the same time as Dhoni as he would've been a great captain for India - much better than the dross we got from Kohli and Rohit.

IPL doesnt matter. Even Fatso has done well there.

Internationals specially Test cricket is totally different,

Surely he'd have had his input in decision like sending Siraj today. If not hes not needed.

The sad part is that they should've already learned the lesson when they sent out Siraj as nightwatchman earlier and he couldn't even last a few balls. Akash Deep had already shown he could bat in home series and yet he was pushed to 11 when he should be batting at 9.

These repeated mistakes and inability to counter Head has shown a clear lack in planning. Gambhir should be held accountable for these fiascos.
