Maha Kumbh 2025

Bharat is a unique country to say the least. It can be very frustrating being in love with this land. They can mediocre and abysmal to the point of questioning your existence. And then it pulls off stuff that literally no country should be able to manage.

45 day Mahakumbh has started. There will 400 million plus people coming here. That is more that population of US. Half of population of Europe. 150% population of UP.

But this keeps happening every decade. The land is graced by god and cursed by demons. You just can't do without it no matter how toxic it gets at times.

It's a once in 144 years celestial event.

My parents and other relatives are going to attend for a week this month end, booked their tents 6 months ago. I can't go because of work. This one is special, after 144 years.

Just hope it is conducted safely this time. Enormous task at hand, and may God guide the administration well.

Good to know,

Even my father and my brother are going on Mouni Amavasya bathing.

This occasion is going to be special, and a threat risk can't be taken lightly as successful completion of this event will bring a dramatic change in the Indian political & socio-cultural landscape.

India, of course, does not need affirmation/validation from outsiders embracing her culture. She stands on her own.

Amazingly, most of the reels and tweets on Mahakumbh are about how some falana gora , esp Giri is head over heels about the experience. We have our Desi guys making fun of Naga sadhus , and jokes about “Kumbh ke mele mein kho gaye” propagated by Salm-Javed  Bollywoodiyyas. Outside these two extremes, whoever I have talked to personally are ecstatic about the spiritual experience, the same I felt when I went to Kashi and Gaya last year.

The worst was Hindustan Lever coming up with this ad, grown ass Hindu man deliberately losing his dad  in Kumbh Mela and realizing his folly and gets Brooke. Bond Tea.

Idiots . Definitely made by Secular Hindus,

I used to also think this. I have changed my position a bit. I think there is universal message of this civilization that transcends boundaries. Imo Indians are losing value for their own culture. Colonized mind does need a jhatka from the other side at times.

Many youngsters in India would know about Kumbh through instagram reels. So one or another the message gets amplified.
