What sorcery is this? Will we ever win a toss?!

This is kaala jaadu! We haven't won a toss in ODIs since 2023 ODI WC SF! Yup, you read correctly, we haven't won a toss in an ODI since the ODI WC SF against NZ which happened in Nov 2023! That's 13 straight tosses lost. And before winning the toss against NZ in that SF, India had only won 1 toss out of 14 tosses in the knockouts of ICC tourneys going all the way back to 2014! Plus we promptly lost the toss in the final to Aussies which essentially decided the match on that "win the toss, win the match" pitch.

 

This goes beyond all rules of probability. Winning 0 out of 13 tosses in bilaterals and 1 out of 14 (or 2 out of 15) in knockouts is simply mind boggling. Almost seems like we're using the coin from Sholay movie

No, we lost the Eng SF one. Don't recall who won the toss in the final. But either way, the toss record for India has been abysmal and goes way beyond 50-50 it should be. I can understand India winning maybe 45% or even 40% of the tosses instead of 50%, but current stats are simply beyond what you would expect.

As long as we win the tourney, wouldn't mind losing the tosses. But need to win the tourney here as everything - venue, pitches, squad, opponents - has lined up in our favor
