rangeelaraja Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 I have not seen any better than Sehwag - he was able to whip even balls on offstump - the speed that Sehwag used to generate for his onside play - have not seen any better. Other two IMO - Azharuddin and Mark Waugh.
vvvslaxman Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 Tendulkar was the guru. But there were few more guys who were expert at it. Azharuddin. He could also do the reverse by playing from on to off. He had supple wrists and uber light weight bat which enabled him to do. Tendulkar had a 3 lb bat which allowed him to impart tremendous force sandeep and New guy 2
Prabhdeep Singh Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 Laxman and Tendulkar did as well occasionally
singhvivek141 Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 All wristy batters can do that. I remember Mark Waugh, Tendulkar & VVS doing it consistently. Fixeruddin too...but remembering him fills me with rage and hatred. sandeep 1
putrevus Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 Viv Richards, there was no one better he could flick even outside offstump to legside. Azhar is next one. Both of them developed offside game much later in their careers.

crictime Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 (edited) It's the easiest shot to play. Must be plenty of batsmen playing it easily. Edited April 23, 2025 by crictime
bsriharsha Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Azharuddin and Laxman. Pietersen did it well too. All the three had the ability to flick balls on off stump with a closed bat face. Knowing that they would be likely to get caught plumb in front of they missed. And the timing in that too with a closed bat. Mark Waugh's speciality was more in the on drive. Not the flick/whip.
bsriharsha Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 The progenitor if Azhar and VVS was jaisimha. Almost effortless flicks.
