But i think get another batsman in....even 50 to 60 extra runs in two innings worth it. Washington and thakur have been under bowled.

India have a home test series v windies coming up which dont need him. Bumrah last bowled on Saturday morning and has effectively 4.5 days recovery time as opposed to English pacers who barely have 3.

 

Its a fair gamble playing him.

STuart broad take on this makes sense. He said they should leave it up to bowler.  If Bumrah doesn't feel alrihgt don't force him. It will be like playing one less bowler. Just pick the bowlers who are available not relutcantly available. You are hurting the chances more.

Quite frankly is bumrah is even 90% he himself should say yes. Rest next few months. No icc event on the line.

I am not sure he is even 90% lookig at the way he was trudging along in the 4th test. May be he realized it was a  road that gave absolutely nothing. Later we saw how England struggled.

Unless he is someone who can bowl at 140k he is not coming back. There will be tinkering only in the bowling department.

Even if they are saying fast bowlers are fit, they certainly do not look fit.  Akash deep and Arshdeep can both play if fit. Siraj can rest. Please do not play Kambo again.

It is not about replacement. He is one guy who unite both ENglish and Indian fans. Many are disappointed not to see him. He is an out and out entertainer both while fielding and batting.

His workload in this test was 

 

Thursday - 12 overs.

Friday - 15 overs 

Saturday Morning - 6 overs.

 

My hunch is that they will play him.

I have seen all recent games and most of the wickets are picked by fast bowlers. Last year, SL pacers picked 18 wickets in the match to win it. In 2023, England pacers picked 17 wickets to win the match in the ashes. In 2021, Indian pacers picked 16 wickets to win the match. 

 

In 2018, Jadeja picked 7 wickets, hanuma vihari picked 3 so 10 wickets by spinners but we lost that test. Spinners won't win you a test here no matter how many wickets they pick because opposition will have scored 500 by then.

He is injured. He has calf injury which he carried from third test itself. He couldn't bowl one ball over 140k in this test. Better play any fit  bowler except shardul.

Won't really matter. He is not getting wickets,he is now a trundler. Cannot last 5 matches.
