Same thing in other formats. Beating them in 2016 WT20 group game (Mohali) was sweet. The Nairobi CT 2000 win was more special than some of our ICC tournament wins. 2007 WT20 SF Durban>>>>>final against Pooks in Joberg. 

 

Just Australia things. They are the greatest cricket nation of all time and will remain so for the rest of our lifetimes, so anything associated with them becomes more prestigious. 

 

Come on guys, I am sure you all will rate the 2007-08 CB series win in Aus (beating them back to back in best of 3 finals) above many ICC KOs. 

 

India also stopped Australia's 16 straight test wins, twice.

 

The first time was Kolkata 2001.

 

The second time was Perth 2007.

 

I don't know which was more impressive. India were 300 odd runs down and were following on. Yet, somehow won Kolkata and won the series.

 

After the Symonds fiasco, India bounced back hard and beat Australia @ Perth. Unthinkable scenario.

I think this would go down as best.Gabba was won by batsmen chasing, and 2001 was at home.

 

Taking 4 wickets with so little runs to defend is nothing but a miracle.Only three bowlers spinners were not used that much in this match.

taking wickets is so binary, there is no hint of it occuring until it actually transpires. they are rare events. we had no business winning that test after tea yesterday

Gabba 21 is still India's greatest ever test win of all time.

India would almost have to do something unthinkable to beat Gabba 21. Although this win was also for the ages and probably our 2nd best away test win!

You are 100% right, India had no business of winning after that partnership.But give Siraj lot of credit, he put the team on his back and carried them in both innings.

 

It would been very unfair if he ended up this series with that dropped catch as his highlight/lowlight.

 

Playing all five tests and still running hard even on final day had to be rewarded and destiny did reward his skill and  hardwork in the end.

In Gabba we were down to 10 men, Saini got injured on day 1.

 

Gabba was a fortress where Aussies hadn't lost for 29 years.

i've said it before, when the hour was unfolding yesterday, you don't stop to check the strength of each side, how many debuts etc. drama is drama. each to their own though. this was right up there for drama and against all odds to convert a 3-1 drubbing to a 2-2 draw ushering in a new dawn!

Can't disagree. I didn't even watch it live. I just rewatched ball by ball. That tension was still there for me.

for me it was the binary nature of the action. it's either a wicket or it isn't. the ball is either fielded or it isn't. and each outcome flipped the probabilities on their head. chasing a score by comparison while exhilarating gives you sense of steady but building hope.
