Not sold on Jitesh Sharma’s quality.

I know wrong timing when he probably will end up finishing this game but doesn’t look a bit assured at the crease and looks like he will be out anytime. I know he is in a thankless batting position where he comes in lower down the order but still there is no assurance, method. balance or power hitting ability.

feel he will end up costing some high pressure games (IPL doesn’t count)

Thats the issue with all Ind Wk-batter, none of them are really top quality T20i batters. Comparing to other team you could see all the options avilalble to Ind are not that good.

There is where t20 batting template comes into play, if a team does not have a wk-batter who can walk into to playing 11 on the batting alone then, the wk has to open.

This way team cam maximize their batting , have a deeper batting line-up and can add some Allroinder/bowler/Batter - creating a spot for a player.

So the best option from the worse is to play sanju as opener, ask him to maximize the pp.

Opening with wk asking them to maximize pp and take risks if they have to in-order to keep the 4/6 coming. Every other team is doing this apart from Aus because they have to get Marsh can they are trying to maximize him. His shot-selection is v.much like Rohit just add more power game to it.

Plus they think iglish is better player of spin and can use modern day shots in the middle.

Well, this is the tradeoff.
Our T20 suited wk-batters are openers, they can't bat under 4 (Samson, Pant, Kishan, KL, PrabhSimran). Jurel and Jitesh are the only ones who can do that, but one is not fit for T20s, other one is hack/tulla/slogger.
You deal for floating MO, you've to play a hack...you want a better batman, you need to sacrifice the batting order.

No wk is high quality white-ball batter, Ind has to pick best frm worse and try to maximize it.

Prabha is good, they should experiment him by batting him at 5-6 and see how he does

If the Gill experiment ends and Samson opens, then play Rinku in place of Jitesh.

If Gill continues to open, then Jitesh at 6/7 works better than a floating Samson

I hvnt see the match today..I generally have same opinion on him but lets not judge him based on his first appearance on Aussie tracks..thats a bit too early..

How long we need to persist with BCCI poster child.. he is a good batter but we have better options..

Is a typical finisher.

If we want to play Jaiswal, Jitesh has to be there in MO. Also a better keeper than Samson

Has improved a lot recently.  I think the T20 side has to be selected keeping in mind the conditions for each World T20.

He is alright for SC conditions.

Plus current form should be main criteria for 6,7

No need to play someone for his reputation

He'll give you 12 ball 20 and is much better lower down the order than Samson. He can go from ball one and score quick runs which Samson can't lower down the order.

The amount of chopping and changing they have done with Samson it has already taken a toll

Even if he plays as opener,I think damage has already been done

He was finding his feet with this side as opener but just not only him they disturbed the entire XIs balance by accomodating impactless powerless Gill
