Number Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 (edited) Seems like current season is ongoing and keep hearing about it from office colleagues chat and relatives chatting about it at family functions. I stumbled upon it few years back and found everything about it so cheap. Some weird characters, staged or forcibly induced fights and arguments. It felt like lowkey voyeurism. Lone Wolf Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Cheap Jio subscription, peak unemployment are the reasons. Afaik no one watches it on TV. Indian content on Jio hotstar is extremely bad.
bsriharsha Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Why are you so jobless to even refer this show ? Don't you have enough indian cricket highlights to watch ? Or enough stuff on OTT ?
Laaloo Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Because indians get great pleasure in misery. They love watching others fight. They love tamasha. Bigg boss is perfect for that.

zen Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 I haven’t watched Big Boss so can’t comment if it can be watched or cannot be watched. But it could be that people follow reality shows for a quick time pass (romance potential, gossips, fights, etc) without having to follow the story in details of a long and meandering TV show.

I am shocked to read your post. Please don't tell me you are waiting for it come to a theatre near you. Number 1

Now its all about Love Island (even dumber). There was also a time when "I am a Celebrity Get me Out of Here!" where celebs were chucked into the Australian jungle, was a big thing. These shows find a market globally. Saying its just about India is lazy and wrong analysis. A big chunk of these shows originates in the UK and Europe, because, unlike the USA, they simply don't have budgets, and reality TV is quite cheap to make and can fill hours of TV. From the Apprentice (also exported to USA) to the Dragons Den (Shark Tank). UK is that reality tv exporting superpower. British people are very creative and their skills are honed in theatre acting. If you count the number of British actors in Hollywood originating from uk, you will see uk has oversized impact Lord and Number 2

I'd rather roll back the years and watch WWE than most Indian content

Some ATG years and quality content week in and week out. Rewatching all the quality content from this channel. https://youtube.com/@th14productions?si=P7XnQSGLiBbW0e0S Nikhil_cric 1

If you consider professional wrestling as a form of entertainment and "performance", it actually holds up fairly well
