Looks like they are going to boycott. Pak and BD might end up doing something what spineless GOI couldn't after Pahalgam.

It will never happen. Seen this too many times and how it plays out in the end. This is just another tactic to blackmail the ICC into giving them more revenue. Political grandstanding is the only thing these pathetic losers are good at.

 

Have you guys already forgotten how they threatened to not play if Andy Pycroft was the match referee and the Hybrid venue fiasco before the champions trophy.

Those cowards will not boycott anything, they backstabbed BCB who were fools to depend on these backstabbers.

 

Either way both of them don't matter much ,  no one will miss them.

 

BCB are first rate morons who deserve this, who boycotts world cup based on one player being excluded and then turning it into matter of national pride .

No Pcb can not, they have already signed on the agreement to participate in the ICC wc and agreed with the venues and opp. they play.

 

So far nothing has changed, be it Ind , pak and SL in govtnl terms, the conditions are same as they were previously and nothing has changed between Bcci, pcb and slc.

 

Pcb is trying to create a fake pressure may be domestic audiences on icc and bcci.

 

Bcb lost the participation for nothing, icc mny contributes to 50-60% of bcb's total revenue. bcb can lose $27 mln by not taking part in this wc.

and bcb has lost the backing of bcci, do not think that fizz matter would not have been discussed with fizz, kkr/ip/bcci and bcb... before making the decision to not include fizz 

 

If things does not resolve, there can be a voting on if bcb is fit to Co-host the Wc-31

The only reason they will boycott as they very well know what would be outcome of the match. But if they do so, huge penalties and sanctions coming their way, it will be same mistake what they did in ipl 2009.

Pakistan's participation in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is uncertain as of now. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Monday informed that the final decision is yet to be taken.

 

He said this after a brief meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Naqvi, who is also the interior minister of Pakistan, met with the PM to take his advice on the situation, after which a call was expected to be made. But Naqvi informed them that they are going to take some time to finalize their decision.

 

PCB boss had a meeting with the PM

On the social media platform 'X,' he informed, "The final decision will be taken either on Friday or next Monday."

It is now believed that Pakistan may not wish to miss the entire tournament, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) can counter the possible situation in a unique way. According to media reports, if Pakistan wants to withdraw from the tournament, then the council can include Bangladesh again in the competition.

 

Bangladesh in, Pakistan out?

While the Bangladesh cricket team's matches were originally scheduled in Kolkata, India, Pakistan will play in Sri Lanka. In case Pakistan refuses to play in the 2026 World Cup, then the vacant spot can be filled by bringing back Bangladesh into the tournament. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) asked to shift their matches from India to Sri Lanka due to their 'security and safety concerns' over the cricketers.

 

ICC did not approve BCB's demand and removed them from the tournament. Scotland will play in place of Bangladesh. After this, if Pakistan refuses to play, then the ICC can ask Bangladesh to play the tournament, following the fixtures of the Pakistan cricket team, which are in Sri Lanka.

 

"If Pakistan decides to withdraw, Bangladesh would be given the opportunity to replace them in Group A and play all their matches in Sri Lanka as per BCB's original request. This arrangement would pose limited logistical challenges," an official informed the Hindustan Times.

Pakistan can violate their own demands

It seems that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Pakistan government both do not want to make a decision in a hurry. Naqvi discussed the situation with the PM and keeping all options on the table to resolve the matter.

 

"Had a productive meeting with the Prime Minister... Briefed him on the ICC matter, and he directed that we resolve it while keeping all options on the table. It was agreed that the final decision (on participation) will be taken either on Friday or next Monday," Naqvi wrote on 'X' after the meeting with the Prime Minister.

 

It was also learned that if Pakistan wants to skip the tournament, then it could be a violation of the deal. Because of Pakistan, the ICC tournament will be conducted in a hybrid form. Because of the conflict with India, Pakistan will play the T20 World Cup 2026 matches in Sri Lanka.

 

"It was on PCB's demand that an understanding of the hybrid model was worked out between the Indian and Pakistani boards. By not playing, they would be violating a deal they themselves had worked for," the official further said.

The series vs eng no eng. broadcaster was ready to take it up finally bbc had to pitch-in in the end.

 

Fox also does the same wait till the end moment and the pick series vs pak.

 

if not wrong pbc floated a tender for broadcasters 5 were interested 2 of which were Ind (or had connection with Ind) all the deals made were well below what pcb was expecting, even the top deal was from one of those Ind. Then they scrapped the tender and now have some kind of private/own pcb app for Aus/Eng with subscription.

All this nonsense is just to grab attention and nothing else. Come Feb these idiots will put the tail behind and be ready to get that money for playing world cup.

 

This posturing is all for show to their public.

 

BCB for what ever reason had balls to boycott unlike these cowards.They overestimated themselves but that is a different story.

We usually see pak drama after they lose to India. This time we are getting both pre and post match drama. Everyone knows these Pakistani will come crawling. Naqvi should come and steal coin used for toss.
