putrevus Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) I hope people don't put too much unnecessary pressure on Abhishek, his batting style is high risk, he is bound to have string of low scores. But if he bats even 10 deliveries, he will do damage.Leave him alone. Comparing with GOAT White ball batsman is unfair. Edited February 16 by putrevus Vk1, Need4Speed, rollingstoned and 1 other 1 3

Don't remember much from him in 2010. Then wasn't the same post cancer, though he still played a few good knocks like against Pak in 2012 series, Aus in 2014 WT20. putrevus 1
bowl_out Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Looked very weak and unwell. Should be rested for the next game. Play him in super 8 when he is fit Vk1 and Ultimate_Game 2

After winning toss they can't even make the right decision whether they should bat or bowl. Abhishek will be fine.

deepdynamo Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just hope he regains his form vs Netherland. A firing Abhi-Kishan combo would be a nightmare for teams in super 8. Ultimate_Game 1
Gollum Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Rest him until he is 100% fit. If he has to make an entry in SF Head style, so be it. putrevus 1

Yes he was and Jadeja batting ahead was one of genius moves of Captain Dhoni who was hell bent on screwing the team. rollingstoned 1

The ball he got out to, normally he would've deposited a similar shortish delivery in the stands. Need to recover fully and then have a longish stint in the nets. And against Ned he should take a few deliveries to get in and then play shots. He needs some sort of form going into Super 8s. Even a 30-40 score would make him feel much better. This illness/flu happened at the absolute wrong time, just like Gill's Dengue in 2023 WC. And if he's unlikely to recover fully I say the selectors make a bold move and get Jaiswal to replace him.

Gill's stomach bug seems regular illness and he should be fine very soon

You seem ok if you're doing a desk job but for a professional sportsperson it takes at least a few days to recover and be match-fit. Hopefully Abhishek is recovered now and is back to his regular self. tapandrun and Vk1 2
jf1gp_1 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 He will be fine. I want to see him in ODIs now. cricketfan28 1
