Initially felt these minnow matches - with the greatest respect to them - were a waste of time but I might miss 3 matches in a day when it's no longer happening. These teams only get this chance during big tourneys so they will give it their all, for likes of us we are spoilt and can't wait for the business end to begin. T20s are the best format for it, procession of one sided ODIs become unbearable quickly.

And middle overs batting by Tilak and Surya isn't confidence boosting either

Batting against offspin has been below average,with explosive lineups we will meet next ,we can't go with meek SR against spin to challenge those batsmen

 both matches tomorrow in lanka are in danger of being washed out,imo Sri lanka has a rain forest climate and hence they should not be hosting any ICC tournaments because there is no window available where it doesnt rain there is very small.

For optimal playing conditions, the tournament should have been scheduled for mid March to minimize the risk of rain delays and cancellations

that will not work either because of IPL,maybe January but that is prime cricket season for southern hemisphere.like i said Sri lankas window is tiny while in India it doesnt rain for 5 months.

Yes,maybe from 1st week of March and pushed  IPL by 1 week

IPL used to start from 2nd week of April,now due to 10 teams they have been starting it from March end

It's not contextualised with respect to the pitches we've played on vis a vis other teams. 

 

But it's still pretty damning. 

 

One simple fix to mitigate this would be for SKY to come in at #3 to break up the troika of left handers .

that is a good idea except he is the main tuk tuker against spin.

His role would be to protect the left handers against offspin particularly. 

 

They won't be able to spam offspin if there is a right hander in the Top 3.
