putrevus Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) She was always an idiot who thought by always offering contrarian views she becomes elite sports journalist. How is it BCCI's ego, there are miserable creatures like her, her idiotic take on CT 2025 is enough to know she should be living in Lahore with her lahori logic. ICC is BCCI's Dubai office what a miserable idiot. I have no problem in condemning BJP/ Modi or BCCI but it should be done with some logic. You should always have voices pointing flaws in govt that is part of being good democracy. The Realist Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Lol at respected cricket journalist. Used to write tedious meandering articles at Crapinfo. Now thankfully disappeared without a trace. G_B_ 1

Has even gone against Bhogle. This chap was part of COA less than a decade back (Lodha reforms), and that gang of 4 along with Snake Manohar took Indian cricket a few years back. Imagine giving such snakes power where they can sabotage India and promote Pak's interests. tells you the length and depth commies have reached in all strata of society that sc judges too cannot think beyond them Gollum 1

Whether it be via CoA or ban on fantasy sports last year. There a billion cases pending, poor people get their tareekh after many decades, undertrials continue to rot in jail their entire youth. But these batmen want limelight by poking their noses in cricket, films, anything with glamour/entertainment quotient. Judiciary has been the biggest roadblock in India's progress, not executive/legislature. They have a God complex, also a nepotism culture that will put Indian politics to shame, select few families have been wielding that power since independence and they rarely work despite the truckloads of pending cases, also won't allow judicial reform. Gollum Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) Guys, let us be classy. Even if she is lesbian or whatever, who cares? Oppose her for her views/hypocrisy, not her orientation. Apart from being morally wrong, that also trivializes the discussion. Argue the point, not the person, else you have lost the debate. Edited February 3 by Gollum GoldenSun 1

Gideon Haigh, CMJ, Peter Oborne etc. all had/have their prejudices, but dhang ka likhte toh hain !!!!! Here we have clueless people masquerading as journalists. Whether it be these insufferable pricks or a Boria Majumdar. Cricinfo mein bhi our authors lack the quality other countries' representatives have...forget Gardner or McGlashan, our Sambit Bals and Mongas don't have the quality of Andrew Fidel Fernando or Osman Samiuddin. And I consider cricinfo mid. Same state in all sports/games. Compare Sagar Shah of Chessbase India with Levitov and his Russian Chess Channel. Vishy Anand recently co-wrote his semi-autobiography with a hack called Susan Ninan, if you read that lady's pieces on ESPN, ulti ayega...every second line of hers is a factual error and she doesn't know anything aout any sport. Meanwhile Kasparov co-writes with Mig Greengard, Plisetsky, some of his chapters even with Demis Hassabis (DeepMind fame, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry). Severe shortage of talent in India, or at least the talented folks aren't given opportunities. So we have to endure absolute mediocrity. Peter roebuck was one dammned good writer. The dude used to write such sharp pieces. Sad that he self-deleted out of depression. And yes, Osman samiuddin is quite good too. "Severe shortage of talent in India, or at least the talented folks aren't given opportunities" Agree completely. diga and Gollum 2

Yeah, Roebuck was a great writer, Enjoyed his pieces in 2007-08 BGT, used to consume all his articles on Cricinfo and Sydney Morning Herald. Cricinfo had many good writers back then. Now Indians dominate their space and have brought down the quality. kepler37b 1

Except mallus and bong's I do not see it anywhere. Hence we do not have good quality writers as the demand does not exist. We do have abominations like Chetan Bhagat. But reading a page in their book's lowers my IQ by 1 point. Gollum 1

I would recommend everyone to read non-fiction books, if time is a constraint try it at least for a few minutes every night before sleep. Builds personality. I wish I had started doing it at a younger age. Lord and Tillu 2

Latest generation is busy all the time scrolling phones. For goras, it is reading books, playing sports, hiking, biking, painting, learning some musical instrument or dance form, volunteering, and useful activities like carpentry, gardening. No wonder our people in general lack personality. diga and GoldenSun 2

He wrote books on Attilla, Genghis khan. They are too good for a history buff like me. https://www.johnmanauthor.com/ Edited February 3 by kepler37b Gollum 1
