This. 220 seems below par and 250 is safer winning score. Who has a decent bowling attack- GT? DC?

No one. Only MI looks good.

GT > MI = PBKS = DC, in my book.

GT - Prasidh, Rabada, Siraj, Holder, Rashid, SaiK

PBKS - Arsh, Chahal, Jansen, Brar, Vyshak

DC - Ngidi, Mukesh, Axar, Kully, Nattu/Starc

The other teams are average/rubbish.

Indian domestic fielding as well.

That's the biggest disappointment. Our youngsters drop sitters and misfield way too much. Other than a few exceptions (Rinku, Aniket) don't see a reliable fielder anywhere.

I liked Kartik Tyagi in patches and he has potential. But agree with an earlier comment that pitches need to have something for bowlers and we need to have pitches where 180 is the par score and 200 is the winning one. Also need to push the boundaries farther out as much as possible. Need to bring bowlers back in the game else it'll be a case of match between a team which ha Bumrah and those who don't.

Blame these flat pitches. There should be something for bowlers. Even psl has better pitches then ipl

You need PSL quality batsmen to make these pitches look good.  Look at the areas where they hit. It was not the case 10 years back. This is the same wankhede we have been playing for decades. Play ODI or Test on the same ground. You will see a different result.

Wankhede is best batting track in the country on average.  No score is safe here tbh

We just have to readjust our expectation  4 overs 25 was a good spell before now 4 overs 40 is a good spell. That's it. At the end of the day rules are same for both teams. At the end of the days on both roads bowler won the man of the matches. Tuffy and Thakur. You just need to find that one bowler who can make that difference. That's it.

Agree with this. GT, MI and PBKS look the best.

RR look decent too - Burger, Archer, Bishnoi, Jadeja + Sandeep/Tushar

CSK will possibly go with an all-overseas bowling which doesn't look bad either - Henry, Noor, Akeal, Overton/Short + Khaleel/Kamboj.

When Brevis is back, they'll have to bring trundlers which will weaken the bowling.

SRH, KKR look horrible. RCB look average, hopefully will be better when Hazelwood is back.

At Wankhede and Chinnaswamy everyone will disappear.

PSL is using same pitch multiple times.

As season goes on you will see some assistance to the spinner in IPL too.

As rightly mentioned in other post too batting is changing batters are hitting more 4 and 6, and a right comparision made with kolhi's last innings. They are still batting with 35 ball 50 that too vs non-intnl level bowlers but batter who are just hitting 6s are taking hitting at diff level.

Issue with MI vs KKR game was may be in hind side but innings between Ankrish and Rinku and there was a phase of 12-14 balls where there were no 4/6 by kkr.

Batting and batters are evolving too fast but the bowling is not.

There are 2 ways to make wkts that support the bowler either making them swing or making them to spin. And both are detrimental in many ways swing meaning side batting 1st has disadvantage spin means side batting 2nd has disadvantage.

Bowlers needs to evolve and boundary sizes need to be 70+m ,hitting ability is getting better every year now

Tyagis 3rd over (I think) today to HP and TV was good until the last ball when he gave up a boundary

Let's see how he progresses but he maintained good pace throughout. IMO he should be given a bilateral ODI series as ODIs has less pressure on a bowler than T20s and we need to find some decent pacers for the WC.

He looks energetic. he is aggressive by nature. He tailed the old ball back at yorker length. That is gold as he does that at high speed.

Chinnaswamy and Wankhede are batters paradise and bowlers graveyard, they are tiny.
Guwahati where today's match is scheduled for is another tiny stadium.
Matches in Lucknow and Jaipur would be hopefully different, both are the biggest stadiums in terms of boundary dimensions. Hitting sixes won't be easy and 70-75m hits will be caught on the boundary. Cow corners of Jaipur is almost 77-79m unless they pull in the ropes.
