Gollum Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 This decade, Aus, RSA, NZ have all been better than India in tests. Lone Wolf 1
The Realist Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Eng lost 7 out of last 9 tests. Drawing 2-2 v Eng was pretty lame in hindsight and even that was only due to Eng choking badly. Gambhir as test coach is shockingly bad. nitinbwj 1
Gollum Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 @Tillu predicted NZ series win on June 2, only one to do so at the start.@mishraji's vote came in a bit late but still kudos Root, not even 1 100. Congrats @tweaker Also have to say, Rachin was marginally better, his 94 here was series-winning. nevada and Tillu 2

GG took over the greatest ever home side and made it a joke. Baz took over a struggling side, changed the template, enjoyed some success but nosedived hard. GG is the worse test coach till now, he has no philossophy and backs donkeys over red ball performers. Lone Wolf, nitinbwj and putrevus 1 2
Gollum Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 Fitting that NZ, Aus and RSA are the WTC champions in the 2020s. Long way to go for this Indian side. nitinbwj and Norman 1 1

Gollum Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 First marquee test series of this year over @Lone Wolf Still to come: Aus in RSA Ind in NZ Eng in RSA NZ in Aus Lone Wolf 1
putrevus Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Gambhir's template in tests will never succeed, he has made bits and pieces players core members of his team. AS NZ proved beating England in England with this crapy bowling atttack is not hard. Edited June 29 by putrevus nitinbwj and Number 1 1

That's the one. India in NZ would be a mere 2 test series with NZ being overwhelming favorites. Clearly the worst series in the roster. WI v Pak and India v SL would be entertaining ones. More stakes. Lone Wolf 1
Lone Wolf Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Scary fast bowling depth in NZ cricket right now. If they get 2-3 half decent 40 averaging batters they will be world beaters

SecondSlip Posted June 29 Posted June 29 @Gollum @Lone Wolf TTFs Karun Nair & Shardul Thakur cost us the England series last year. This England team is very beatable but these 2 proven failures screwed us big time!

After he was dropped scoreline was won 2-1. We could have won 3-0 but for some poor chase attempt at Lords. Once the ball was 20 overs old, it absolutely did nothing. But by the time we had already lost 5 wickets. Even Bumrah was ungetouttable until he threw his wicket awya. Edited June 29 by vvvslaxman

Still understandable why they went with him coz of his past exploits in Oval Test. Karun Nair was a brain dead call.. perhaps I was the only one in ICF to call out that bringing that guy back once again is slap and matter of shame in a supposedly cricket crazy nation. It's like Zimbabwe calling Brendan Taylor to come back but were not Zim. Could have picked any youngster from the domestic heck should have started with Jurel even. He would have made it count on a flat Headingley track Edited June 29 by Lone Wolf SecondSlip 1
