sarcastic Posted July 14 Posted July 14 After a long string of losses (effectively 7 in a row notwitstanding a No Result in between), this win tastes very sweet. Be it return of Bumrah or Gill or Ro-Ko's presence or change in format/captain, Indian fans needed win to keep interest in the team going. express bowling and velu 1 1

Plus I like the fact that this win was set up by 3 hit-the-deck 140 k+ Indian pacers who made the English hop and jump throughout and reduced them to 107 for 6. Another such pacer and England would have been dismissed within 150. Edited July 14 by express bowling Vk1, Sgattick10, rollingstoned and 2 others 5
Lone Wolf Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Vs a near full strength England side, yes it's a good win. Away ODI series wins in SENA still have some prestige over T20 bilaterals Sgattick10, velu and Gollum 3
Gollum Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Sadly missed our bowling innings. Must have been nice to watch actual speedtsers for a change. express bowling and Lone Wolf 2
deepdynamo Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I feel we are on right track in ODIs for the world cup. - Prioritzing tall, fast and zippy fast bowlers. No trundlers or floaty ones. - Maybe planning to use Axar as the only spinner in SA 2027. Believe, its a good move. Defensive but could be effective. - Batting has expeeince. Need some fine tuning though. - Add Pandya in the mix and we will get our balance back. We need to fix few points though - Decision on Rohit. And it need to be made fast. - Obsession with bits n pieces like Washington & Dube( in ODI) - Lack of left handers in Top 5 My Ideal XV for the World Cup, provided everybody is fit. BATSMAN( 7) Gill Rohit Jaiswal Kohli Iyer Rahul (wk) Kishan (wk) ALLROUNDERS (3) Pandya Nitish Axar SPINNER(1) Kuldeep FAST(4) Bumrah Gurnoor Rana Prasidh express bowling, Sgattick10 and Norman 2 1

It's a side on upswing in Limited overs cricket. Brook Archer alone can win matches single handedly in most conditions.

The win is also special as most of the players contributed in the win. The allrounders Sundar and Axar did their role. Prasidh, Bumrah, Gurnoor bowled well.Dubey bowled 6,7 overs . The major concern was there is no one to take wickets in middle overs. England can plan to see off pacers and target Sundar, Dubey, Axar. BacktoCricaddict and express bowling 2

Agree on the Rohit decision. Needs to be made fast. Jaiswal needs a few games under his belt if Rohit is uncertain. I don't think Kuldeep is making the cut for the World cup. They might take both Jadeja and Axar, and play them based on condition. GG doesn't seem to like spinners who don't contribute with the bat. Top 5 is fixed. 6-7-8 will be Pandya, Reddy/Jadeja and Axar 9,10,11 will be 3 quicks. Ideally, Kuldeep can play at 9 if both Panya and Reddy play, but not sure if TM is thinking that way Edited July 15 by bowl_out
