Vancouver Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Bumrah goes missing whenever there's an important match for India, yet somehow manages to play an entire IPL season. The workload management logic just doesn't add up. And over the last three years, it often feels like he's been stat-padding in low-pressure games rather than delivering when it matters most. tweaker, test fan, New guy and 2 others 1 4
vvvslaxman Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I don't think world cup final, semi finals are statpaddig matches. India has to learn to live without Bumrah. Best place to experiment is bilateral. Entire series is a low pressure series which is happening during world cup. He plays in 3 formats. We expect hi to be hero in all 3 formats withotu any support. Vk1 and Sandz 1 1

Shami has been needlessly completely discarded Shami looked completely washed in CT 2025 itself.. watch that Semi final and he was unfit and barely able to bowl quick and accurate. Seam position was all over the place. In fact rookie Rana looked the better Pacer among the two in that tournament. Anyways Experienced English seamers went for 360 against a very poor Indian batting unit. Their spinners again were the difference. I for once think there is not much wrong with rookie Pacers. They will learn Our Pacers outbowled theirs in 2/3 games very easily. Edited July 20 by Lone Wolf Vk1 and express bowling 2
putrevus Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Shami should have been in the team, there was no reason for his removal.Shami did alright in CT semifinal and was the most successful bowler helping India reach semifinals. He would have done lot better than the bozos playing yesterday.

Rather he picks up wickets upfront in series...only to be let down by the batters and other bowlers. Australia series...he played 5/5 games..except 5th game he bowled his quota everywhere. Yet, batters keep on failing him. He barely plays ODIs, I thibk he played after 2.5 years. T20s he is playing and delivering. But he is 32-33, his body isnt getting any younger and with the strain of action, its logical that he will break more often than not. Steyn too had so many issues when he crossed 30. And Steyn had a perfect action. express bowling, New guy and Gollum 3

He should skip IPL for a season to manage workload

I like Shami a lot but he isn't the same bowler. Siraj is injured as well. Gurnoor is inexperienced, it was his first major tour, and he was on target for initial 6 overs. Prasidh was mostly in control except for the last over... If you wont pickup wickets with the new ball, batters on such flat surface will make you pay. Arshdeep was most experienced, he couldnt do anything. Prince was anyway not of international calibre. Axar is timepass. We have to stick with this and move on, probably I will include Akashdeep as a new bowl bowler instead of Arshdeep but thats it. There are no shortcuts to get ready made pacers...you see ability in someone, you have to back them. Else we will keep on getting Avesh, Mukesh type jhantus... Sandz, Adamant and express bowling 3

How are you coming to conclusion he is past it.Let us assume you are correct he is past, is he not entitled to get a series before we decide he is done after the horrible show all round. As I said earlier , you can have one Gurnoor who is WIP but you cannot have all four bowlers with him who are useless. Put any competent bowler at one end and Gurnoor's bowling becomes instantly better from other end. There is no upside in playing Arshdeep and Prince in odis. They will never be good even if they play 20 years.I rather lose with guy like Shami than lose with losers like Prince who even on his good day will not do anything. I still cannot fathom why guy like Prince was playing over Kuldeep.Only reason I can think off is some one in TM does not want Kuldeep to play for India.Just like they kicked out Sarfraz and Shami without any reason.

putrevus Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Lot of soft corners for Bumrah. How about guys like Rohit and Kohli in odis , are they appericiated? I saw same geniuses literally abusing Rohit before Lord's match.

India won with zero contribution from oldies in the first ODI in ENgland because of Bumrah's exceptional spell that took out Brook first ball once again. He also took out Brook first ball once again in the world cup. Also almost took out warner first ball in world cup final. Worst slip fielder in history chose to drop it. In 2019 MSD spilled Taylor when he was on a low score. Jaiswal dropped boat load of catches off Bumrah's bowling in tests. To statpad in ODIs for a btasman they just need a batsman and a company at other end. Bowlers need fielder support, captain support, as they don't bowl all 50 overs. Coz he is a GOAT, the one bowler who has single handedly enhanced Indian bowling reputation and won matches from impossible situations in knockout games. But the same wont be said if Bumrah continues to linger till 38-39 years of age, even likes of Sachin & Kapil Dev faced criticism in the last 2-3 years of their career. Batters cant excuse themselves due to their poor performance, score 230 & struggling to score 250 when conditions were tough (thank stars for Axar & Washy). 3rd game was on a flat pancake where we were never in a winnable situation. Stat will look good for the batters but watching the match in real time shows what was actually going on. Ro Ko are growing old and ageing, every game for them is going to be tougher and tougher with the new rules. Its not their fault but the selectors who cant take a tough call like Auzzie selectors did with Ricky Ponting, as no one wants to stop playing the game which has made them what they are now. Its a travesty that likes of Jaiswal cant even find a place in the ODI. On top of it likes of Iyer, Kishan, Rahul hasnt shown any sign to take responsibility. Atleast Washy & Axar won the first game with the bat. express bowling, Manucrick and New guy 3
