Remember that Kohli had chosen to play saha instead of Pant in test 1, which we lost. He wouldn't have dropped Saha for sure and Pant played key roles in all the remaining tests

Shastri and Kohli were very rigid no wonder they struggled in key games in ICC events as well.

Tactically extremely daft despite having the resources to do well

Only retired from international cricket.

Seems rather pointless to make such a statement now when last played in July 2023.

Will still be around lighting up IPL with run a ball innings :isalute:

All cricket...

PS: don't be so cynical as to make fun of someone who delivered series win against the strongest Aussie team in the recent years

Not anytime soon given that some of the members played with him.

As per rule even Ashwin cannot apply for a chief selector job by 2029

Ashwin won't anyway. I think Ashwin will be more suitable for specialist coach like bowling which is where his strength lies. He adds a lot more technical value, strategy value.

Ashwin has love for trundlers and csk players. He hyped kamboj to moon. I prefer him to become coach rather then selector

I will always remember him for playing that pull shot against peak Mitchell Johnson at the MCG during the 2014 test series. The ground reverberated and that shot was strongly imprinted in my mind even after all these years. Happy retirement Jinks.

One of the greatest pull shot player India ever produced. Whole career is littered with soft dismissals

One of those batsman whom I have never seen luck going his way, Lol. Always found soft ways to get out and was average against spin which lead to his low average.

Great point. I think he was more than a safe fielder; he was quite brilliant.

I made that point before him
