The Realist Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Only retired from international cricket. Seems rather pointless to make such a statement now when last played in July 2023. Will still be around lighting up IPL with run a ball innings Norman 1
diga Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Spin was his achilles heel.... His innings in Melbourne Australia will always be remembered nevada, Need4Speed and BacktoCricaddict 3
Gollum Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) Victor of BGT 20-21. His legacy is secured. No Indian captain in the future is going to achieve 10% of that. Edited July 30 by Gollum Chalks, Bigg Brother, Lord and 4 others 4 3
Adamant Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Will be remembered for taking Kohlis team ( one that Kohli and Shahstri built) and winning BGT with it. It could have been 3-1 in favour of India if Kohli was there. New guy, sage, Nikola and 6 others 9
Gollum Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Dharamsala 2017 another one. Brilliant captain, selecting Kuldeep in place of a batsman (Kohli), masterstroke on that pitch and paid dividends on day 1. BGT 2017 was also peak cricket, but gets overshadowed by 20-21 BGT. GoldenSun, Tillu, Lone Wolf and 3 others 6
singhvivek141 Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) Probably understood that he won't get the recommendation letter again. Frankly speaking, he underachieved. Avging in late 30s and playing crucial hand in ensuring we lose the 2016 ODI WC SF. His starts were promising, scored 61(47) on T20 debut vs England and then played some key inns in his tour to SA and Eng. But one good inns came with a string of mediocre scores. Spin and his inability to play the deliveries coming in to him were his biggest weakness, which teams started to exploit. With a text book technique, he should be avg mid 40's in Tests, he IMO was a better batsman than Pujara. But didn't do complete justice. Edited July 30 by singhvivek141
govinda Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Great captain but massive underachiever with bat. Anyhow adios jinks thanks for 2020/21 bgt

Nikola Posted July 30 Posted July 30 He had shown great ability in initial phase, i will say his first half he was averaging around 45 with some really good overseas knocks but then it was complete downfall. Very underrated captain because he always led his team in crisis and still never lost any match. singhvivek141 1
KV244 Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Jinx was very underrated captain. His Captaincy was one of the major reason we won BGT 2020-21
Manucrick Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Forever grateful to Rahane for BGT 2020–21 Wish him all the best in his next chapter His calm personality would make him an incredible coach nevada, rollingstoned, Tillu and 2 others 5
Bigg Brother Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Underachieved in all 3 formats. Promised a lot and expected a lot from him when he debuted in one off T20 against England in 2011. Orchestrated the greatest comeback for us after abysml 36 AO at Adelaide with MCG hundred. Also who can forget that hundred on Lords green mamba in 2014.. rollingstoned 1

He wouldn't have dropped Saha for sure and Pant played key roles in all the remaining tests Lone Wolf, Manucrick, sage and 1 other 4

BacktoCricaddict Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Took a rag-tag inexperienced, but hungry, team to the greatest series win ever. Will never forget that. nevada and Chalks 2
vvvslaxman Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 One of the greatest pull shot player India ever produced. Whole career is littered with soft dismissals rollingstoned 1
