vvvslaxman Posted August 17 Posted August 17 This is supposed to be the best Australian pace UNIT in their history. Struggled against us a lot. Now struggling against Bangladesh is different. Nagara, muzarabani were quiet handful against Bangla boys. But Australia generally offers flat pitch if they don't think opposition a threat. On a good batting wicket losing 20 wickets inside 4 days to this bangladesh bowling (without their X factor bowler and shoriful) should raise alarm. David warner was master of crucifying these kind of teams. This tukloo wetherald and recently promoted Head are not hte solution. Head as opener is a lottery. He is by nature not a test class opener. Had good numbrs against England. But not sure if this is a long term solution.

Australia selection committee seems to be even worse than ours. What happened to boland ? The dude shot to fame just for the series against us. Don’t remember if he did well against England. Atleast in one match he was taken apart.

They should now use Connolly as their next X factor main guy Aus generally have been successful doing it They will have to ,anyway Aus will have to literally phase out their entire side, lol Smith, the pace trio,Lyon,Head ,Labu,Webua,Green

In covid times he uploaded Instagram videos where he was doing barbell squats and deadlifts. Now he's only been doing cardio. Lack of strength training must have affected his bowling speeds, what say @rkt.india@express bowling @Rightarmfast @Suhaan? See, I didn't watch the match. But I can say one thing, just because he didnt bowl fast doesn't mean he has lost his pace. It depends on the mood of the bowler, the pitch, the weather, and sometimes your body doesn't support you. Maybe the opposition didnt excite him. But he hasn't lost his pace, thats for sure. Look out for him, when theres a tougher opposition, and you will see the ball flying. Mark my words, no matter what anyone says.

Not all the time but quite frequently. He probably feels that he cannot afford to get injured and miss any games. He can still bowl quick on a good day. Edited August 18 by express bowling Mosher 1

Tamim iqbal explained about it in commentary. Out of the two bowlers Starc and Cummins he felt Cummins was quicker. He said he was surprised to see the clock speed of Starc much higher than Cummins even though cummins hit the bat harder. His 135 to 140k will be very quick for most .

He sets up batsmen beautifully. But in conditions a bit like subcontinent wicket he can be toothless. Darwin wicket was bowling wicket only on day 1. Then it flattened out like subcontinent wicket. Not the first cummins, josh, starc and failed to dislodge lesser batsmen. Ashwin/Vihari both injured batted for 43 overs at the SCG against these 4. Then Sundar and Thakur. None of them are predigree batsmen. Then that pakistan leg spinner made a century down the order. They rely on maintaining relentless line and length on flat wickets with bounce. Darwin didn't have that much bounce.
diga Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Many of us here predicted that Bangladesh will do well in 5 years time after they won the u-19 world cup in 2020... Well done

Hes playing a lot more league cricket and age and wear and tear have taken their toll. He's not the athlete that Starc, Rabada etc are either Until 2020, roughly 58% of his deliveries were above 140 kph. Now it's maybe 15 % , if that. Edited August 20 by Nikhil_cric

Frustrated Posted August 21 Posted August 21 BD drew a test series (1-1) in NZ in 2022. Now, they will end up with a drawn series or a series victory in Aus. Irrespective of the 2nd test result, they hv shown that they are a much better team than Pooks. Also, BD hv whitewashed pooks (2-0) twice in last 3 yrs. New guy 1
