I find this trend quite odd. Every time Pakistan lose a game/ are knocked out of a tournament we have exactly 18 threads popping up mocking them. And I guess every time we face an over seas washout we see the same in the padosi forums. Shouldn't we be more happy with our own success than with Pakistan losing? As an (rather poor) analogy, who would we want to be remembered as: Hector or Achilles? Both are killed in the Trojan war. But Achilles despoils the corpse Hector after defeating him in battle, drags it around a chariot. Hector on the other hand respects the dead of his opponents. Which Aegean hero do we want to emulate? Treating Pakistan as just another ( and currently, very mediocre) team is the way. That is what Dhoni seems to be doing before every game against them. And its worked well for us. Our players aren't unnecessarily worked up. Therein lies his genius.

I think the reason this time, because of the arrogance of PCB, and Pak fans after their win in Asia cup. And also ICF was not available during the entire match hence the members were spending more time in some other forums and then came here to vent, all at once, when ICF came back online.. It's to drive home the idea of India. When Pakistan fails in cricket or in other social and economic parameters (as it is currently doing) it serves as a message - This is what happens when you secede from India, an eternity of failure and misery. Our growth and success (not just in cricket but other parameters as well) drives home the point further.

We are not a two-bit nation, we are, along with China, a naton-civilization, that has had our name associated with our civilization ( India/Hindustan/Bharatvarsha/Aryadesha are all historic name for South Asia from different groups of people).
