He was opted by the management not because he's had such a good record in England, won a series there and was lauded for his captaincy and team management , but for the reason that he supported Dhoni. You have ****ing lost it, dude. I mean completely! If that's the case then Ganguly should be booted out of the commie team for speaking against him, no?

Calling Dravid at the 11th hour for some consultancy advice is not going to cover the yawning chasms of weakness and decline that are apparent for all to see under the zombie like leadership of Dhoni & Fletcher. By the way anybody seen Joe Dawes the "bowling coach"?...

Great players don't always make great coaches ... nevertheless it is a move in the right direction with the BCCI finally seeing that Fletcher needs some help. True and Akram is an exceptions somehow. I think its because the greats have inherent super skills and they expect it from those whom they teach or lead. But Dravid was always a hard worker even more so laboured than say a Sachin or Hayden who themselves were hard training based greats..much more so than flair freak players like KP/Lara..

How would a padosi know that :giggle:, he has been hired as a batting consultant. Just to give advice on how to play there. Batting coach's role is a whole lot different. come on dood, that's uncalled for. His question is very much valid. We can only wait and watch on how dravid performs his role. He answered his own question in the second part.

A 17 year old Sachin laying the best bowlers of his era was a training based great :haha: He was a much bigger freak and phenomenon than Lara ever was. Just because a player incorporates hard work into his ethics doesn't mean he cannot be naturally talented at the same time

Guess there are more than 2000 test batsmen played cricket so far, and if someone ranks sachin as #5 instead of #1 or #2 , why does it hurts you ?? :icflove:

Coming from India where he never gotta face fast bowlers of real pace and at 16, showing the guts to stand up against the likes of Akram-Waqar at that time where I do not think he ever faced bowlers who could bowl at those guys pace and then scoring 100 in England and at Perth. He was a phenomenon.

He was a child prodigy, he learned and improvied his technique throughout his career. Right after his captaincy, the comeback run after his injury was THE perfect batsman with absolutely no weakness.
