Need to get off this high horse. At the end of it u need that ability to step it up when it matters. Also must have those skills. And ‘skills’ aren’t just coming up with some slow ball or cutter or swinging when it swings. U gotta be able to force things and make them happen when things don’t go your way . TBH, I don’t mind getting knocked out early. But with this team I can say with certainty we would never win when it matters. This indian bowling attack for the T20 WC badly lacks enforcer pacers who can make things happen when the ball is not moving. Shami of 2022 is not the fiery Shami of 2013 to 2020 any more. Hardik is not a specislist pacer Even in T20s, we need atleast 2 specialist pacers in the playing 11 who can make things happen with pace and bounce when the ball is not swinging. Our trundlers feel insecure without swing and that's the reason why they try to be over-defensive in big matches and fail on all counts. Confidence comes from abity too, and if we pick bowlers who lack ability in non-swinging conditions then they will invariably display lack of confidence. express bowling Posted November 11, 2022 Author Posted November 11, 2022 Before the India Pakistan game earlier .... IND vs PAK: Waqar Younis gets sarcastic, says ‘Thank you India for not picking Umran Malik’: “I’m happy he’s not there because India will play Pakistan. He’s a real talent. We spoke about this in Asia Cup as well because he was not there when Star sports guys were making their team. He was not there in anyone’s team,” Younis said “I was really surprised because they don’t think the way we do. We believe if someone has pace, he will do alright. And eventually, you could see that the kids who came into the Pakistan setup when Misbah and I were coaches are now the backbone of the bowling,” Younis added. When Pakistan finds a bowler with pace they try to develop him as quickly as they can by playing him in actual matches. If people from the Indian cricket fraternity selected the Pakistan Team then their pacers would have been safe trundlers like Mohammad Abbas, Rumman Raees, Mir Hamza and Tabish Khan. Haris Rauf would be told to play domestic cricket for 3 years and then come back. During the Asia Cup, Akram and Younis kept complaining about India leaving out our faster bowlers but the Indian commentators tried to avoid the topic except Gambhir. They love fast bowling simple,we despise them Where most of the games are played in SENA,spinners are always support bowlers world around if you don't count our doctored pitches ,there as well Shami and Umesh have gone shoulder to shoulder with our so called spinners with their pace(earlier versions) singhvivek141, express bowling and Mosher 3

Now we need mostly batting . For white ball cricket, there are lots of pitches and conditions in India that will require proper pace bowling. Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Lahli etc.for example. And quick yorker bowlers are always needed at the death. Plus quite a few venues need hard length bowling in the middle overs. We can't play spin these days. We are better against pacers without swing. I don't think too many spinning tracks or gripping tracks will be prepared. We will need quick bowlers with control for flat surfaces. Suhaan and Mosher 2

Nagarkoti has started playing domestic cricket after a long time. Played the full domestic T20 tournament in 2022. His injury was mismanaged for a long time. Thankfully he still retains his pace and aggression. We will get a better idea where he stands as he plays more domestic matches this season. Mavi may never be ready as he has cut down his pace and lost his aggression. But the frontrunner new quick bowlers now are Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen, Kartik Tyagi and Mohsin Khan. And the lsst 3 are tall and bouncy too. Would be better picks than either Mavi or Koti. We may see Sen and Umran playing against NZ in a few days.as they are in the LOI squads. Mavi is a lost case, he was in touch with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (as they hail from same city) and now he is trying to follow Bhuvi's style, I think it will be too late by the time he'll come to his senses. Nagarkoti is fit and still hitting 145-147kph, just need to get some match practice to get back in the game. 2 years lost due to poor injury management. As @express bowling mentioned, these 2 have fallen behind in terms of performance...and the above 4 names are leading the race. Apart from them, we have Yash Dayal (selected for Ban tour) and Rajvardhan Hangargekar (played in 2022 U-19 WC) as 2 more options...former is a left armer who bowls 135-140, latter is a big hitting bowling allrounder (pace probably in 138-144 range). express bowling, Hell Raiser and Mosher 3
the don Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Nobody is completely ready when they first play. It takes time to adjust to the step up of international cricket. Wood wasnt ready when first played, Butler and Stokes werent, neither was Rauf, Shaheen etc. Bumrah took time to improve too. You identify bowlers and play them in low key bilaterals so you can bank on them in big tournaments. singhvivek141 and express bowling 2
the don Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Btw. Newzealand conditions can be unforgiving on new fast men with the small grounds. Look for skill ( pace, movement, stock channel ball, bounce and ability in the match rather than the figures initially if you are looking at the tour as a future investment. singhvivek141 and express bowling 2

Umran is in NZ tour (ODI + T20), but missing from Ban tour. Kuldeep is only in NZ ODI leg, Yash is only in Ban ODI leg. After that IPL and then all the experienced stars will come back, and these new guys will go in oblivion like Ravi Bishnoi. express bowling, Mosher, Suhaan and 1 other 4

Nikhil_cric Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I feel like like Prasidh has a weak core and not enough lean muscle on his frame for someone so lanky. Anyway , his speeds are not what they were a couple of years ago. Not sure why many of the younger bowlers keep losing speed.
